I had something called (I think?) Sport 'n Shave Ken. Basically the 80s version of the mod Ken but instead of a paste-on mustache, you drew it on with a magic marker and "shaved" him with a damp sponge "razor."
@joq8: He had some nice clothes, though. We raided my mom's old doll clothes and my Barbie was thereafter smartly business with all of original Ken's hand-me-down dress shirts and blazers. My Easy To Dress My First Ken never matched that same class with his powder blue dinner jacket, white stretch unitard, and sparkly legwarmers. Easy To Dress Ken was made entirely of hard slippery plastic (no bendy legs for him!) and had biceps and hammies too massive to fit original Ken's natty office wear.
This reminds me of a barbie I had that came with scissors and an extra set of hair. I butchered her hair (because that's what I was supposed to do right!?) and mom got mad. But I velcro'ed her extra hair back on and it was all okay! Except it looked like shit. Poor Barbie.
I totally had both of these dolls! So much fun to curl Barbie's wire hair with that plastic curling iron wand. And Ken came with multiple side burns options; I think only the mutton chops survived (we used to stick the mustaches and sideburns on GI Joe as well). Ahh, the memories... (Damn that person who stole my Barbie collection from our storage unit!)
Oh, and Ken had real hair back then (not plastic helmet head), and Barbie may have still had real eyelashes as well.
@ktwonderwoman: My grandma still has my mom's Ken from when she was a girl, but all of Ken's hair sadly rubbed off, leaving him with only a gluey shadow of his former glory.
