• Stylist Emmanuelle Alt, Carine Roitfeld's longtime right-hand-lady, is said to be leading the field of candidates to take over as editor-in-chief, while editor/novelist Virginie Mouzat may still be under consideration. (We previously looked at both candidates in more depth.) [WWD]

• Detmar Blow and Tom Sykes are trading jibes with Lauren Goldstein Crowe over their dueling Isabella Blow biographies, both of which hit U.S. bookstore stores this week. Everyone is sniping at everyone over the email, sometimes in ALLCAPS!!!

• Detmar Blow on Alexander McQueen: "Money changed him and then drugs changed him. I remember reading of how he had flown his boyfriend somewhere for £130,000. What did Issie get? Some clothes. I find that quite shocking."

• When Lindsay Lohan decided to expand her leggings line to a 280-piece collection, there was bound to be some chaff. But lace hoodies? Croc-embossed minidresses? A...thing made of sequins that looks like something Pamela Anderson wore? Dangerous precedents, all. [LATimes]

There is at least one obvious reason LOVE decided to put Kate Moss and seven other naked models on the cover of its third issue. However, editor-in-chief Katie Grand would have it that theirs was a nobler intent: body diversity.

• A London stylist says the upcoming V size issue is "such an extreme response to the size-zero hoopla...I don't think using outsize models is really the way to change perceptions." Others, however, are more positive:

• Gwyneth Paltrow's clothing line with Zoetees is hitting stores this month. The collection includes tee shirts, studded tank tops, and a grey oversized blazer — fine basics, but there's no indication why the line should start at £100. [Elle UK]

• Leighton Meester made the September cover of Harper's Bazaar, and inside the magazine printed digitally-altered photos of the actress, intended to show how she will age. At 23, Meester is already a supporter of Botox. [WWD]

• Unlike her husband, who plans on doing zero promotional work for his Adidas line, Victoria Beckham is in New York to unveil a new 20 ft Emporio Armani ad at Macy's. [UPI]

• Is former overweight person and current size-o-phobe Karl Lagerfeld changing his Hedi Slimane stripes? Beth Ditto, who in addition to being very talented, weighs somewhat more than 100 lbs, is playing a Fendi party. [FWD]
