    I hate the term "Cougar", and I hate manic/shrill tone of this show, so I skipped it. But I also hated this article and found it equally cliche and shrill - but that could be because my partner is 20 years my junior (and no, it's not a 1-night hookup, more like two years) and no, not all of us see motherhood and marriage as what we want or what is "meaningful" for women. So I concluded that I'm a hater, and then I went and got some beer.

    My TV guide description said something like it "tells the truth about beauty, dating and youth." And I knew what I hated about it - because portraying 40ish women as sex-starved and whiny is not the truth. The 40 year old male neighbor banging one hot college girl after another is not the truth. They are lies and cliches, in this case dished up without wit or insight. I hope this show tanks hard.

    I had no problem finding words. I expect sitcoms to be insulting, but this was especially terrible. It was badly written, overacted in parts and mostly it just made me sad. Busy Phillips had one great line, and I chuckled at another scene. Otherwise it made me aware of the heartbreak of elbow wrinkles. (Elbow wrinkles? Can you fucking leave one goddamned body part alone, world?)

    All the older women on Scrubs were kinda shrewish and superficial, too, weren't they?

    @Chamalla, now gainfully employed: Jordan is quite shrewish, but I definitely wouldn't say she's superficial.

    YES! This is why it reeks of bile to me. It's not empowering. It's another way to simultaneously find women pitiful and perpetuate that they are the sum of their fleshy parts.

    I was wondering why Tina Brown, whose successes are largely far, far behind her was being invited to opine on this matter at all. Then I hear that she is currently writing a book on the Clintons. I know can hardly wait to see what this slightly more upmarket version of Kitty Kelley has to say about them. This book will surely be as sober & incisive as her biography of Princess Diana.

    I watched these this morning, and was bummed they didn't read my STFU, JOE (or similarly stated) email. I think the tone TB is taking is increasingly unnecessary - I do not think she was basically calling HRC fat but was referring to the idea of rejuvenating/getting your mojo back - and Joe really IS a fan of hers as SOS, even if he is a lunkhead. I gave serious props to Mika for calling shenanigans on this this morning and would love for us to be talking about echoing support vs. wtf is wrong with these people? I know, I know, we have to call BS when we see it, and Mika consistently raises the point of "if she were a man, this would NOT be an issue," let us underline that point!

    In the last six months I've just started to appreciate how smart and tough Hillary Clinto really is. She is so far above Tina Brown and Ann Coulter and their ilk, they can't even see her ankles from where they are.
