Is he in love with her, too? Or is she just falling for men who "protect" her...cause it's heart-breaking if its the latter...and wonderful if it's the former.
It's not all that surprising to hear. He's the first man in her life that has shown her kindness, care, and has her safety at heart. Of course she's fallen in love with him.
If he's a truly kind man, though, he'll steer her towwards counseling and away from a romantic relationship, at least at this stage. She's in no state of mind to be dating.
That poor woman, what an awful situation to be in. If it's true, he should quit as her body guard. After what she's been through being in a relationship with anyone who has some sort of power over you just seems like an awful idea to me. If they want to pursue it, he should get himself a replacement
I thought the reason why tabloids could comment on celebrity's lives was because they had thrust themselves into the limelight. I thought private people's were just that ... private.
@westvillagegirl (exiled in chicago): I agree. This woman did not seek fame at all -- I really feel reporting things about her outside of the legal case is a a horrible invasion of privacy. I wish we as a society could get some common sense about this stuff.
@shorty63136: I am a cynic, but I doubt that this soon after leaving such an abusive situation, a healthy and loving relationship is not possible for her.
@shorty63136: But they won't. She's a public story now, swept into headlines unwillingly and now a part of a grisly, gruesome, and fascinating story, which the public does not want to let go of. The modern era of communication makes us the worst of voyeurs.
@MissyMcCLung: I was thinking the same thing. It's really easy to see how she could fall for the guy protecting her, after just having been rescued from the most horrific situation we could imagine.
@MissyMcCLung & NefariousNewt: I know. But in the grand scheme of things, the only thing we can do is wish her the best. I'm feeling optimistic this morning.
@shorty63136: Calling Sandra Brown! Calling Sandra Brown! I guess you guys just cannot see all the romantic potential here. Beautiful, broken girl, hunky, handsome bodyguard. Six children?
@Miss Smith Drank Your Vodka: I know, I am so upset now after reading that. In situations like this I wish I was ill-informed or maybe that I had the power to block things out of my mind. I hope something can be done about it soon! I have a 3 year old boy and it breaks my heart because I can't help but picture him in that situation.
@Notes from the underwhelmed: Seriously, she even says they lost business after 9/11. I love that it took over 7 years for new inspiration to strike.
There is a used car or car repair or something place on the NW side called "Barrack's" or something similar. I assume it's been doing fabulously lately.
@Notes from the underwhelmed: Me too. My boyfriend at the time lived near it, and we were together during 9/11 (and after). I always amazed that it 1) managed to stay afloat with a name like that; at least from the outside it looked pretty grungy too, and 2) it wasn't burnt down or vandalized in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
Doesn't McDonald's already have an anti-litter campaign at the point of sale? It's on the tray liner and the bag and possibly also the other food containers. I'm almost certain. But then again, I wasn't raised in a barn and don't toss my trash on the ground after I eat. I have no idea what is wrong with some people.
@TheFormerJuneBronson: I think 20% of McDonalds diners in my area don't bother with tossing their trash on the ground. They leave it all sit on their table and simply get up and walk away.
I've always thought they're either:
A. Pretending they are dining in an actual restaurant or
B. So used to their maids at home they're completely clueless when left to fend for themselves.
I prefer to think it is -
C. They are complete and utter idiots, slobs or both.
@EdenMoore: Last year I saw a woman with 2 children do this while I was jogging on the Mall in DC-- she just threw her napkin on the ground and kept walking. There are garbage cans *everywhere* on the Mall. I picked it up, caught up with her, tapped her on the shoulder, and with completely innocent expression said, "Excuse me, you dropped something!" and jogged off.
"In a depressingly ironic twist of fate, Alec Ahsoak, a 53-year-old sex offender, recently won $350,000 in a lottery sponsored by an advocacy group for sex abuse victims."
re: Drew Peterson -- anytime I read about a woman dating a guy like this, or similarly violent/awful/terrible, I just want to go, "You know, it really, really, really is okay to remain single."
Sigh. The chick was crazy enough to go live with the (allegedly) murderous bastard with her 2 kids?!! In what motherfucking world does that make sense? Couldn't she leave the behbehs at her parents for a while, while she adapts?
Misanthropy sequence starting at 10...9...8... damn too late.
Arresting and torturing a 2 year old in order to get his mother to confess to falsified charges is a crime against humanity. The story about Nigel Mutemagau is beyond sickening. I really hope the press can get some results.
@Little Time Bomb: co-sign!! are they trying to kill the baby? coz that's what they"re doing, sick f@*#cks!!!!! i'm in south africa, right next door, and this ain't in the news! i'm sending the item to all our major press!!!

Truth is stranger and nastier than fiction. I assume they're going to disqualify him.

if this is true the bodyguard needs to step back and allow her time to heal
before having a relationship
i hope he is giving her emotional support

I once saw a woman throw some trash on the ground, then turn and walk into her house. I was so flabbergasted.
