    @angelheadedhipster: I definitely think that Obama should be more considerate of his undead constitutents and allow them to be represented in his Cabinet. Otherwise he's just being vitalist.

    i'm the furthest thing from a republican possible but i'm still interested in knowing whether this locke guy has paid this taxes. i don't think that should be a partisan issue... it's true that it's ridiculous when they waste tons and tons of time trying to find dirt on someone when there's no evidence for it but based on the lobbying thing and obama's track record... i mean, i don't think that's inappropriate.

    @penny_lane: I think the post said he did pay his taxes. buuuutttt his lobbying/legal ties to corporations are still questionable. that hallibruton-esque kind of stuff haunted Cheney and Bush (and rightfully so), so I hope Obama is careful about denouncing it when he can--obviously, there is not a ton he can do now, aside from firing Locke immediately. And if Locke really is the best choice for the job, that would be unwise in the long-term.

    I'm a whiner, I admit it. I want a stable job. I want the economy to be run by the market and not by CEOs of financial institutions. I want peace in the Middle East. I want our unconscionable dependence on nonrenewable energy ended. I want my retirement savings to grow. I want to stay in my house. I want government to shut up and fix my problems.


    Sorry if all this whining is causing you ears to bleed, Representative Boehner. Strange thing is, the Constitution of the United States gives me just as much right to whine as it does you to express your asinine ideas.
