    Solange has always been an indie artist, most people just assume since her sister is one of the largest commercial artist in the world that Solange by whatever virtue of relation is as well. Not so not so at all.

    Solange is such a breath of fresh air, definitely my kind of girl.

    Note: Solange sampled Erykah Badu's "Bag Lady", who actually sampled Dr. Dre's "Xxplosive", who first sampled Isaac Hayes "Bumpy's Lament" I believe. #solangeknowlesdirtyprojectors

    @BestEuphemismEver: Not me, mostly because I'm not a huge Beyonce fan. Not to say she doesn't have a great voice/range, but her pop music style doesn't really appeal to me. I love that her sister has a similar voice, but applies it in a wonderfully different way. #solangeknowlesdirtyprojectors

    @GirlFailer: You and me both! She's really just come to my attention in the last 6 months or so, and every time I've been impressed, either with her wit or her opinions or (now) her voice and music choices.

    And if she's an all-around kewl chick, I can totally get behind the penchant for feathers and other wacky sartorial choices. I like the variety, I just don't like it when I feel like untalented people dress crazily for attention because they can't get it any other way (I'm looking at you, Bai Ling). #solangeknowlesdirtyprojectors

    @dumblonde: typically, people can speak a second language better than native speakers (of that same language) because they've had to study the rules and nuances of the language more than a native speaker would ever have to. my spanish grammar is way better than that of my native spanish-speaking clients. #lindsaylohantwitter
