Ohhh, Betty as in Draper, her character on Mad Men.
(I just spent the better part of five minutes trying to figure out what made her a Total Betty, and what relevance Clueless had to do with any of this. D'oh!) #jimmyfallon
I think most actors have some core elements that show up no matter who they are playing. The talent of acting isn't having totally different mannerisms, it is believably behaving like a different person. DeNiro always seems like DeNiro, it doesn't make him a bad actor. #jimmyfallon
She seems different from Betty. This was a dumb set-up, no one could make this very interesting. Yes, her voice and face are the same. And she's styled a little betty-ish. Not saying I think her acting is anything special, but impossible to judge from this. #jimmyfallon
This could really be more of a reflection on Jimmy Fallon's poor hosting abilities.
Someone call Conan and tell him we need him and his Walker Texas Ranger Lever back in NY asap. He's stinkin' it up out there in LA and Fallon is WORSE than stinkin' it up in NY (what IS worse than stinking? Crapping it up? Completely bombing? I need a better description here.) #jimmyfallon
From the looks of it, this was totally staged, and it was intended to be interpreted as playful bantering between them. The problem with how it actually comes off is twofold: January's teasing comes off as stilted and removed, possibly because she's uncomfortable or just not adept at this kind of interaction, and secondly, Jimmy Fallon is an easily wounded dillweed.
Letterman would've handled the ribbing with much more grace and infinitely better comedic timing. He'd also make sure he had the last laugh. Whereas Jimmy Fallon still has yet to get the first. (At least according to moi and mine) #jimmyfallon
@BetteD: Her behavior here reminds me of my mother who does the same thing when she's uncomfortable in a social situation. She comes off as reserved, a bit arrogant, and resorts to sarcastic little jabs. In reality, she's just very shy. #jimmyfallon
I dunno. I kinda like how she's not doing the 'smiley, smiley, laugh along and play nice' celeb shuffle here. She wasn't being exactly rude. But maybe that's because I think Jimmy Fallon is lame. Maybe she does, too. #jimmyfallon
@Diziet_Sma: I haven fallen off a couch laughing at Ellen's stuff, so I would welcome her into the late-night fold. Though, given that if it's past 8 p.m. I've usually had at least a drink, furniture interactions could be disastrous. #jimmyfallon
I'd be snarky too if I read nothing but bad reviews about myself while knowing that the main problem was that I allowed myself to be able to be disliked on a show, which was important to the character. #jimmyfallon
@hovy: This just gives me one more reason in a long list of reasons why Jon Hamm is my imaginary best friend. I'm not really a fan of Don Draper, but darn it, Jon Hamm just seems so awesome. #jimmyfallon
