    I know this conversation has been around for a bit, but, I think this article makes a good point - it's a depiction issue on Glee. Yes yes, the men are also imperfect. But the show very clearly handles their imperfections differently. They're dumb, or clueless. But the scheming of the female characters is highlighted(you can see this in how the camera lingers on their faces), and the TONE of what they do is deeper and more disturbing. It's not fun. Terri is partially destroying the show for me - whenever she is part of an episode I wince away, and dislike it. Sue is a fitting villain for this show. Terri needs to move to Nip/Tuck, where this level of female evil would work in context.

    And, Oh, Mo'Nique, I adore you, I don't care if you're being a prima donna about 'Precious' press or not. I suspect you have your reasons. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @NoelleBlue: Ryan Murphy who created Nip/Tuck, also created Glee. I stopped watching Nip/Tuck a long time ago, it just seemed to be an experiment in how strange/surreal/bizarre television can get.

    @Ms Meghan: *nod nod* That's exactly why I said it - because I think Nip/Tuck is also populated by these characters, but it's a darker show, so it worked better for me?

    Welll, at least until about season 3ish, when I jumped the ship. Like you, the bizarre-ness dial just kept getting pushed further and further to the point I couldn't do it any longer. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    Am I wrong for not saying that beauty has to be blonde hair and blue eyes and a size zero? Now, that is beautiful. But beauty is also black with nappy hair, and it could be a size 52. Beauty comes in everything. It's what your eyes perceive to be beautiful. I just don't choose to buy into the foolishness of what this country says we deem is beauty. Who are you?

    I'm interested in seeing how the Paul Haggis situation is going to play out. I've read that there are some celebrities Scientologists that want to quit, but are afraid of the church's retaliation. Good for him though.

    And that Mo-Nique quote is made of 100% undiluted, pure awesome. I want to sneak into its bedroom and watch it while it sleeps. I want to take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    What ever happened to Jenna Elfman's career? She is one of the most rabid scientolonuts there is (google jenna elfman scientology for a fun, albeit disturbing, read) and isn't scientology supposed to propel your career into stardom? Huh? Huh?!     I thought I was the only one who found the fake pregnancy subplot in Glee disturbing. It didn't really seem to jive with the tone of the rest of the show. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    Hmmm, I never thought about the Glee thing before.. There are quite a few female characters on that show that are quite unlikeable (although not Sue, because she's awesome. Consistently). I dislike most of the main female characters in the show (the wife, the guidance counsellor). But until this article I didn't even notice how negative the females characters are. Maybe because I'm so used to TV shows portraying wives as evil nags, and single women as crazy. Sad. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @thecameralovesyou: The male characters are unlikeable too (often more than the women). The only "likeable" character, for me, is Rachel Berry. She's very honest about herself for someone her age. She knows her weaknesses and even tries to change herself for the better. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @thecameralovesyou: I don't know, people keep saying that about the women on the show, but the men are far from perfect. The teacher is interested in another woman he isn't married too and can be pushy about winning, the football player with the pregnant girlfriend used the Rachel character's crush on him to get her back in Glee, the principal isn't very smart and lets all the teachers walk all over him...no one is really positive on the show. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @thecameralovesyou: I love Rachel. She is a bit crazy, but ambitious and self aware. I also like the guidance counsellor, but she's not what anyone would call a positive character.

    Also, all the characters are deeply flawed, even the 'hero" Will is naive and overly innocent, and Finn is just dumb. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @MissyMcCLung: Hmm, but I think the article makes the point well that the men are vapid are dumb, but they aren't so pointedly SCHEMING. Will has done some incredibly questionable things, but they aren't highlighted as evil and manipulative like what Terri and Quinn are doing is - they're just funny. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @NoelleBlue: I think that's developing, though. Will is becoming more and more obviously stuck in his own glory days and less and less interested in working with anybody in glee. He simply doesn't really care about the kids, and I think they're starting to realize that. See: their "over it" reactions to his childish fighting with Sue. #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @ucelluccia: I think that's a very good point. I'm not a fan of his character anyway (or his rapping), but I have noticed a turn in the past few episodes. Away from helping the kids, and more towards a Sue style of "coaching". #jenniferanistontalkshow

    @lilyHaze: I do like Rachel. She's kind of a Reese Witherspoon in Election-type character... but more self-aware. If that makes sense. I see some of myself in her, so maybe that's why I like her :P
    That being said, I love a lot of the characters (Sue, as I mentioned, as well as Puck, Finn and Kurt). Really it's the "main" love storyline between Will, his wife and Emma that does nothing for me. ESPECIALLY the make-believe pregnancy. I could fast forward through those scenes, for sure.
