    I find this morning's Dirt Bag very interesting for the inclusion of both Kiefer Sutherland and Chris Brown. Once again there is condemnation of Brown's actions. Understandable since attacking a woman is a horrible crime. But what about Mr. Sutherland? He is a convicted drunk driver who violently attacked an innocent stranger while he was on probation. Yet he gets a desk ticket and is free to travel. And that seems to be okay. No calls for a boycott. No prayers that he be assaulted himself. No comments on his childhood. So where's the outrage? Why is this situation different? Just asking.

    @topsy: 60/40. 60% racism and 40% he didn't hit a woman, so women aren't as pissed (i.e. any more than if it were a bar brawl).


    I have a feeling California may throw the book at him though, for parole violation. We'll see.

    James McAvoy, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney and Anna Friel will star in The Details, a flick about a a couple who discover an infestation of raccoons in their back yard.


    I am excited, because I <3 James McAvoy, but confused, because this seems like it might be a movie comprised of the parts of Caddyshack with the Gopher and Bill Murray (which was awesome, but I don't think would work for 2 hours).

    i think @EkaterinaBallerina: i feel bad for stanley tucci's loss, but if memory serves me correct, not too long ago he had a torrid affair with edie falco while they did "frankie and johnny at the clair de lune" on broadway, and left his wife/kids and everything, only to end the affair and go back to his wife. it always struck me as odd. i feel sad for his kids.

    Dear Oprah:

    Each gadget has an appropriate use depending on a user's priorities. For example, I have an iPhone because I surf the web a lot. I don't email much, so I don't miss the Blackberry keyboard. Now, if I emailed a ton, then I would get a Blackberry because it is great for that kind of communication, but not so good for surfing the web.

    Alternatively, can you write an essay on an iPhone or a Blackberry (or any phone using text msg for that matter?) Yes. Should you? Probably not. It's like using an Easy Bake oven and a bathroom sink to make all the food for a dinner party. Could you? Yes. Should you? Probably not.

    @sshacker: A memo is a short note. That was a whole essay about the FLOTUS to be published.

    I write notes in my phone as well, but I wouldn't write a full document there, for myself or work. A word processing app is what is appropriate for that. Heck, even Google docs (which has a mobile web interface, and which you can then copy to Word or Pages) is a better option for an essay than a small notes phone app.

    @mepo - Robert Cornhole invented it: i know a woman who went through a super stressful/near mental breakdown time in her life and all of her head fell out. she was tested upside down and backwards and the doctors couldn't find any clinical diagnosis as to why she lost her hair other than stress...


    kinda like little edie, i guess.
