Now can some posters head over to the Duggar posts and spread it around?

Also, she's a well-spoken lady.

While the officer(s) was a total douche in this instance, I DO think this lady is just as silly as the Duggars... there. I said it.

When a decent officer doing his/her duty by searching a suspect for weapons/drugs conflicts with religious practices, which is the higher priority?

The infringement on this woman's rights isn't about the fact that she was searched, but about the way and in front of whom she was searched. I don't think anyone is arguing that she shouldn't have been searched.

These type of abuses, like the woman describes suffering, are an afront to all of us, because nothing is more detrimental to our society than the undermining of our trust in the justice system and those who protect us.

No, I get that. I was just wondering if, all things being fair and equal, where the law and religion intersect, what the proper protocol was.
I guess I should have just said that. ;-) BLERGH!

The land of the free, where religious freedoms are granted - but only if you're from the "right" religion.
I'm disgusted.

The correct course of action would have been, if the headscarf must come off at all, that the woman take it off for inspection with only other females present -like they do when TSA has to check us- and then return the scarf so she could cover herself.
If you have to wear a magic ski mask, then I believe the same would apply. Female officials check your ID and stuff and then you put on the Magic Mask and go your own merry way.

Hey, do Sikhs get a pass on knives on flights? I seriously doubt it.

Also, "Jamila" is what my Uzbek exchange brother called me, since it sounds kinda like my real name. Apparently, it means "beautiful" in Arabic and in Uzbek.
