Okay, I'm going to say something that I know is completely ridiculous, but still: Given the situation he described, where it's a sperm donor (or donors) that you know and are friends/comfortable with and there are no apparent fertility issues, would anybody else try the ol' squish the contents of a used condom out and see if it takes route? I mean, aren't IUI and IVF really really expensive? Would anyone else be tempted to go the cheapo DIY artificial insemination first, or am I just disgusting? #jalexanderfather

@yvanehtnioj: Not at all! I know a lesbian couple whose daughter is the product of turkey baster insemination. The biological father and his wife are good friend with them, and they agreed to the arrangement readily. #jalexanderfather

@Confutatis Maledictis: Either we know the same couples, or it's more common than people realize. I also know two couples, one gay men, one gay women, who have children together and share joint custody like divorced parents do. I've never asked on the specifics of how the children were conceived though, lol. #jalexanderfather

I know it's ridiculous, but I read on some completely non-reputable website that he was actually straight and his flamboyant persona was just that- a persona he adopted for work and publicity.

I scratched my head for a long time on that one, because I knew it had to be wrong, but also I could believe it . . .

I never liked him much on ANTM because he always came off to me as negative and a bit rude. But my goodness if I didn't love him after this interview! Charming, thoughtful, interesting...can we transfer that to ANTM? #jalexanderfather

@Meglantine: My dislike of Jay stems far beyond his rudeness. When watching a rare Cycle 1 rerun-athon, it became patently clear that a once down-to-earth, straight shooting, albeit flamboyant man had opted to play up his camp season after season for maximum obnoxiousness. And for no other discernible reason than good, old-fashioned famewhoring. Boo. #jalexanderfather

@doit2julia: I think it's possible that he was playing down his natural persona in the first season because I'm sure no one was sure how a person like him would play on national tv. As it's become more obvious that the show's audience isn't put off by him, perhaps the real Miss J has simply emerged more? Things have changed a decent bit for gay acceptance in pop culture even since ANTM started, so I wouldn't blame Miss J just yet. #jalexanderfather
