    The trailers for Year One on television in my area are the "I'm a slave" joke and the "raucous mating" joke. That's it. Nothing about raping animals. I'd be surprised too. I wouldn't cry or walk out, but I probably wouldn't bring my daughter, either.


    Victoria Jackson may have overreacted, but let's not pretend movies aren't marketed differently in different areas/on different channels either.

    @Devonna: I'm torn on this one too. The movie is PG-13... and that makes me wonder wth the litmus test is for a pg-13 rating.


    And it's been marketed the same here, Devonna.


    Generally, though, I use the pg-13 as an "OK, it's going to be in the f-bomb/boobs range" - which I'm ok with.


    Explaining bestiality on any level with my kids... not a fun day.

    @Devonna: Ratings are much more specific though, and I would hope parents look at that before taking their kids to a film. Year One is rated PG-13, but the rating says: Crude and Sexual Content Throughout. Brief Strong Language and Comic Violence.


    Not that I'm going to see the film - it's not really my thing - but I just think Jackson wanted to have a go at Apatow, full stop.

    Did it bother anyone else how Victoria included "homosexual" and "obese" as two of the terrible things in the movie? I probably wouldn't have noticed it if she hadn't used both to describe the character repeatedly, but that just kind of irked me a bit. Slaughtering animals after having sex with them= probably reason for PETA/people who are sensitive about animal violence to get a little testy. Big fat gay man "on screen"= makes you cry/feel dirty? Ehhh...

    I'm glad Kevin Blatt took time to reflect on the possibility of the sex tape he was shopping having a detrimental effect on the poor girls career. Sweet of him. That type of concern and regard is just so hard to find nowadays. How wonderful that his conclusions on the matter also coincided with what was best for his pocketbook.

    @MizJenkins: Depends on the celeb/psuedo celeb in question. Sometimes, it really was the other person involved who leaks it. I dont know who this girl is other than she's on a show I would never watch and makes me pray for our little girls, so I cant call it here.

    Um, Shia, exactly what context would make (and I'm paraphrasing) "If I could have sex with my mother I would" sound not ridiculous? It is hard to twist words to make it sound ridiculous when it is crazy to begin with.

    I just can't place exactly why it is, but Shia LaBeouf somehow looks perennially 15 to me...although the references to his mother as being "fly as hell" may have something to do with that.
