    At the risk of being unpopular here....


    Can I just point out here that the dolls figures in do not resemble the actual figures of the celebrities. The Josephine Baker doll is as skinny as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader doll that we were all just slamming a few posts ago.


    I love the idea of these dolls, but please - let's love Josephine Baker the way she really was.

    @alexburrito: Yes. Josephine Baker is my idol, and why is she wearing a ball gown? I see her in some fun, flapper ensemble that shows off her curves. Which the doll does not have. I actually could not tell it was SUPPOSED to be Josephine.


    But, that didn't stop me from "SQUEE"-ing all over the place when I found out there was one.

    Jezebels with a secret embarrassing love of elaborate dolls should go look on ebay or google for OOAK Barbies and other dolls. OOAK means "one of a kind." People take regular Barbies and other fashion dolls, totally remove their faces with acetone, reshape them somehow, repaint their faces, re-root new hair (!), and dress them in amazing elaborate costumes. Some are a little too fantasy-ish for my taste, but many are truly amazing.


    That is all.
