    I came across many REALLY conservative blogs about homeschooling when I was searching for some class material. THERE IS A WHOLE UNIVERSE OUT THERE OF ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE PEOPLE. Who knew? I didn't, and I was pretty surprised by the things I read. I still go back and read them once in a while for amusement.


    Some common threads among these Ultra-Christian, Ultra-Republican (because Christian=Republican, of course, for some reason) are:


    1. We must homeschool our kids because the government is a big fat conspiracy to indoctrinate them in the evil science like evolution and godlessness.


    2. Women belong at home.


    3. We don't vote for Sarah Palin because she is a woman and she shouldn't be out there meddling in politics. (Apparently Paling doesn't have ALL the conservatives on her side.)


    4. We must have as many children as we can. More than 10 if possible.


    5. Being a Democrat, gay, not Christian, or GOD FORBID, all of them is the biggest sin someone can commit.


    Someone save us from these people.

    6. Below you will find cut-outs of Jesus with dinosaurs for science lesson #8: "Creationism is the Truth!" Don't forget to first do lesson #7: "Adam and Eve Discover Gravity in the Garden of Eden." We find the demonstrations of apples hitting the ground really bring the original Creation story to life for kids.

    In my experience, any argument that begins with "It has been said" is usually a piece of crap. This particular use of the passive voice is a fail. I would like it better if she just said "God told me personally" and got it over with.
