    I am a blackberry addict. My data usage minutes are in the tens of thousands every month (unlimited plan, whatwhat!) (Though I hate actually talking on the phone). But, a week and a half ago, my phone was stolen. I have yet to replace it. The first thing everyone says to me when they find out: Wow, that must be kind of freeing.

    And it is. #iphoneaddicts

    My friends were so gadget entranced that I had to create some "if you wanna be my friend rules". 1. If you consistently whip our whatever your devise da jour is while we're out doing something together, I will leave. Period. End of Story. 2. If you're incapable of sending me, and only me, an e-mail and rely upon twitter or texts to communicate--chances are our friendship will dwindle and fade away. 3. If you're not capable of picking up the telephone or seeing me in person (as opposed to "knowing" me via facebook/twitter), then it's blatantly obvious we're not really friends.

    Needless to say, I had about 2/3 of my friends disappear. The other 1/3 have all said how much they like the real communication so much better and that they feel our friendships have gotten better or gotten back to what they used to be before the influx of all this "convenience".

    And I feel so much more connected to those people--I feel like our friendships are real again. #iphoneaddicts

    @quietlygoingmad: THIS. I need to do this. There was a guy in my dorm that hated texting because he believes it is destroying our society. I thought he was overreacting until I realized how much nicer it is to have a conversation without them constantly checking their phone, laughing about something someone who is not present said, and texting while you speak. It's so rude and I hate it. HATE it.

    Also, why are people incapable of communicating via private messages on facebook? I took down my wall within months of starting my page and the result? First people thought they were on a limited view page and felt shunned. Then when I assured them they were not, they just stopped talking to me. Because if the world can't see, I guess it's not worth it. #iphoneaddicts

    @Blueberry26: My facebook page is strictly for people who love more than 30 miles away from me. Anyone else can easily get together with me or pick up the phone (for free!) and call me. That too pissed a bunch of folks off, but that's their problem, not mine. #iphoneaddicts

    @quietlygoingmad: Uh huh. I'm sure that wasn't a typo.;) Lol.I'm so glad Im' not the only one who feels this way. I've gotten to the point I don't see most people my age, I'm 23, because they rather update FB,text, and/or play with games then actual human interaction. Its so sad. #iphoneaddicts

    It's kind of like "the mother-in-law problem" there's a need for the cord to be cut... Too many people think "ooh that's cute" when the gadget is being used as a tool to further attention directed at them, but once you're a couple, this social-enabling tool becomes a crutch and a hindrance.

    I have been a tech-widower... But recovered, now matured - I rarely even talk on the phone in the car at all anymore. Tech is no substitute for what remains of the clean air...

    That said, I just got a Palm Pre, and it is quite fun to tinker w/... #iphoneaddicts

    It's really sad to see that phone conversations are now higher priority than human conversations. We grew up with cell phones strapped to our hips before. Why is it so important now? I have been in too many conversations where people will stop talking to me to answer their cell phones.

    People now get angry at me when I don't answer my cell phone right away. Sometimes I'm busy, sometimes I turn it on mute, sometimes I don't want to talk to anyone right now. #iphoneaddicts

    My biggest pet peeve is that during dinner if BF and I are arguing over a trivial fact he'll go for his damn bb to look it up. I used to tolerate it but I put my foot down recently. Now I'm like, "check it after dinner!" #iphoneaddicts

    @bluebears: I actually would do exactly what your boyfriend did. When you are in a debate and you know there's a fact out there to support your stance and all it takes is a little clickity clack to prove it will override your's or anybody's request. Plus it may give you a chance to gloat if he can't prove it or you can find something yourself to substantiate your claims. Your best bet would be to use his crutch as your weapon. He'll most likely not whip it out the next time. He may fear you'll use it against him. #iphoneaddicts

    @bluebears: Deciding to get the phone out to look something up is one thing. But doing it with absolutely no warning is what bugs the hell out of me. It will be like, Conversation is happening…BOOM full attention turned to iphone. And I'm like, "Excuse me, hello, you are being rude, what just happened?" And he's like, "I'm looking up [whatever], geez, don't get huffy." Yeah, hi, I can't tell what you're looking up. You could be texting your other wife for all I know. #iphoneaddicts

    I know how she feels. My ex got up in the middle of sex with me, while I'm still naked and waiting for him to finish me off to check his iPhone. Yeah, I was way too pissed to let him apologize or explain his way out of that. My self esteem took a hell of a hit that day. His iPhone was more interesting then sex with me.;( #iphoneaddicts

    @Mary McCarthyite: now that i can understand. i'm an event planner--and my worst nightmare is when friends send me messages wanting to know this that or the other about arrangements for some meeting or event. it's also teh reason i don't through parties--being a hostess=extension of my career. #iphoneaddicts
