Considering how Weinstein et al raped Bravo and the original production company, I can only hope that Tim was testifying as having seen intellectual property theft up close and personal. I really wish he'd have resigned rather than appear on the stolen show.

@SunburnedCounsel: Not to trivialize the act of rape or rape victims AT ALL, but according to my trusty American Heritage dictionary, the secondary and tertiary definitions of "rape" are: "2.The act of seizing and carrying off by force; abduction." and "3. Abusive or improper treatment; violation: a rape of justice."

So, if Lulupasternak considers Weinstein's behavior a truly serious miscarriage of justice, then technically she could use "rape" to describe it.

I mean, she most likely meant it flippantly, but I just wanted to point out that "rape" does not always mean "forced sexual intercourse." It was still insensitive, given that the word is a bit of a trigger, but it's not necessarily wrong in all contexts.

@joutfit: I know the definitions. But this is a seriously, ridiculously flippant use of the word, and it can be so jarring and triggering for so many people.

@angelheadedhipster: The first time I visited DC, before I moved here, I called my friend in horror and told her that everyone was wearing a skirt suit with tennis shoes. I can only imagine Tim Gunn's reaction to this phenomenon.
