Like, just in case you want to read what I write. #openthread

Last night I went for drinks, then went ice skating for the second time ever in my life (and did not fall down), then went to dinner, and then went to my university's theatre to see a documentary.
Other than sleeping, it's the longest I've been away from my computer in eons. It was amazing. #openthread

I mean, not that I do stuff like that, or anything. #openthread

b) Does it count as working if my PhD chapter is open on my computer but I'm actually watching the autumn internationals? I do glance at the work every once in a while. Sometimes I make small editing changes...
c) I need gift advice. Two of my best friends have birthdays coming up and I have no idea what to buy. They're really geeky, if that helps, and nerdy boy things always go over well. Other interests include whiskey and rugby. Thoughts??? #openthread

Pretty interesting stuff. I picked it because of some recent cases of North American girls being subjected to FGM by their parents. #openthread

Of course, I'm a lawyer so the legal ramifications and the way they elevate or marginalize people depending on which side of an invisible geographic line they are on piques my interest. But I'm sure there are other issues that aren't specifically law-related that nevertheless exist solely on the basis of geography. #openthread

Anyone else have an inexplicable infatuation with a gimmicky white rapper? Or just a crush on someone you know you shouldn't? #openthread

if not, then you should know MY friend has had an inexplicable crush on Eminem for years - so at least you're not alone ;) #openthread

But as for me, I've just recently jumped on the bandwagon. #openthread

Like, this summer, there was a guy I met who I talked to whom I had no interest in but apparently he liked me, and one of my friends kept pushing me to date him. "He could just be a summer fling," she said, even when I made it clear that he wasn't appealing to me in any way and actually offended me a couple of times.
Has anyone else observed this? And do you agree it's a double-standard, or have you seen this bad advice applied to men as well?
(P.S. This isn't related to my earlier comment tonight on SAFII, though re-reading that did get me thinking about this because it reminded me of the earlier situation I describe here.)

We now have an 8 month payment plan on exchange for their delay! No negotiation needed, they volunteered it.
We should have been socking away an estimate, but..... we didn't and the hols are upon us. And I just had to fix a car to the same tune of $. I guess Friday the 13ths aren't so bad.
I am sure any of you would have set up the same arrangement, but I'd thought I'd share this solution. #openthread

California Adventure - I really liked Soarin' Over California as well as the rocking carts on the Ferris Wheel. Maliboomer was fun too.
In the regular park - the Haunted House was cool because it's all Nightmare before Christmas themed out. I always love Space Mountain, it's been my favorite since I was little. The Space Mountain is different at Disneyland than DisneyWorld though - you can't see ANYTHING.
We didn't get to do everything but we'll be back. Soon too because the full winter wonderland stuff started today. I'm going back for SNOW!
Have fun :) #openthread

@rodmanstreet: She was okay. And my brother bought me one of those "I Survived..." shirts. But I will never ride that one again. I thought it was fucking terrifying!
@SomeAuthorGirl: The Matterhorn is scary! So fun to ride at night though. Thanks :) #openthread

On the way, we listened to the song from the POTC ride over. and . over. (we're rascals, scoundrels, really bad eggs...) And when we went on the ride, we sang it. Every. Damn Word. Mind you, this was before POTC hysteria really set in, so people just thought we were insane. #openthread
