    I've...um...Caused sneezing, throat scratchiness and general puffiness. And it wasn't anything she'd experienced before. So yeah, it looks like someone can be allergic to one guy's proteins and not another.

    I find it curious that the article doesn’t mention that you can have an allergic reaction to his sperm if he has been eating a food that you are allergic to…e.g. I am allergic to tree nuts. When my husband decides he wants to eat a handful of walnuts or whatever, we don’t have the lovin’ because 1) I don’t want to have an anaphylactic reaction, and 2) I don’t want to have to go to the ER with an anaphylactic reaction that originated in my hoo-hoo. #spermallergy

    I once met a girl who had this! She called the guy PS Nick (PS for "Poison Semen"). She said after she went down on him, she had to get up and make herself throw up right away, otherwise she'd have terrible stomach cramps the next day.

    Each sperm has it's own indicator saying that it belongs to Ahmed or John or whoever. If I remember correctly from Bio I, and it's likely I don't, it's those indicators that makes the body attack it. #spermallergy

    @Wibbles: Actually, I do know a girl who is allergic to all semen. She can have sex with a condom, but has a reaction if any semen touches any part of her body without a barrier. True story. #spermallergy

    @BeRy51: It's been a rough go at times! Add in the fact that polyurethane condoms have a 33% TOTAL breakage rate in our experience, and the fact that I've gotten pregnant twice while ON THE PILL... it's never boring around here. #spermallergy

    @redqueenmeg: No! Not easy at all! but also great as an example for how shit happens and, in the words of Tim Gunn, you "make it work." I apologize if this is coming off as patronizing! My husband and i deal with a less severe issue with sex (i.e frequent pain during intercourse. Oversharing?), and i am so sick of the narrative of happy couples having tons of happy and mutually awesome sex all the time. #spermallergy

    @howdybeep (runs with monkey wrenches): They can't. Their bodies react to sperm as to virus, bacteria etc and attack and kill it. The only way is in a petri dish but the couple in the story are against that for religious reasons, according to abcnews #spermallergy
