I have a sick love for some really gross overprocessed food. Specifically Slim Jims (though I haven't eaten one in years) and nacho cheese. Probably because I'm a saltoholic. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
This is why the only meat I eat is organic and cooked by myself. Mind you many processed meat foodstuffs are virtually a vegetarian option they have so little genuine meat in them.
Slim Jims are one of these foods that I was raised to hate by my long-time vegetarian, natural food eating parents; that anyone bought them and ate them was a foreign concept. Needless to say, I tried one my friend was eating and they became my secret addiction for several years. I am off them now, but still keep about 5 different kinds of cured meat in my fridge.
@LaFemme: Cured meat is my favourite indulgence. Mmmmm biltong! But not meat that has corn in it... Why must all American products contain corn in some way??
@IHazKittehz: Yeah, I know, it was sort of a rhetorical question (or a wail of annoyance). I just think it's kind of funny. Trying to observe passover without eating corn in the US is unbelievably difficult!
@CurtCole: Now this is the method that PETA should be using to convince people to become vegetarian...because that's enough to totally kill my flexitarian ass's occasional meat cravings.
I always wondered why they had to list "mechanically separated chicken" on their ingredients. It's been there forever, and never fails to make me laugh.

He cannot stand to look at them now, let alone eat them.
I on the other hand, like my food to kind of look like what it originated as. Call me idealistic.
