    No, those cut-off jean shorts DON'T look better with every wash, they look more haggard and get shorter because the denim threads start unraveling. I know this, I wore cut-off jean shorts all through middle school and I got mucho teased for how short they were.

    As I never watched HoS in its initial incarnation, maybe someone can enlighten me. Is the point of the show that it's like a live fashion magazine? By which I mean, is it going to show me fashiony clothes that cost more than I'd ever spend and then contradict itself by trotting out the ol' "closet swap" BS and how that's a great way to update your wardrobe? Um, that would not work for me. I have two girlfriends and a sister. None of us are the same size or style and we're all poor.

    @..now it's just Aesop's Foibles.: Yeah, it's basically a roundup of trends. I was poor the first time around so I never liked watching it, now I can afford to shop a little, but I just buy what I like that I see in stores.

    Awww, come on, I love jelly shoes! Target has been selling them for $2 for a couple of summers now.


    I might have three pairs.


    Bah, I don't get blisters from them and haven't really noticed any foot sweatiness. And they're sparkly.

    I work for an actress who has SO MANY articles of clothing in her closet with price tags still on them. So for her (and wealthy celebrities/models like her) shopping out of her own closet would work. Not so for me, the girl who is still wearing the same t-shirts from high school.


    Actually I'd prefer if she'd let ME shop out of her closet, but whatever.

    @cmd: I have a good friend like this (not an actress though). We used to live together, and almost half the items in her closet still had the tags. And that's not even counting the two giant bins under her bed of clothes she bought but never touched. It was so bizarre, I don't get it. I always return stuff I never use, even when I have money to burn.

    I saw some Tory Burch jellies and I kind of like them except I remember that as a child, I hate jellies. I have super sweaty feet and my feet would slip around in wet, sweaty jellies and make horrible noises.

    @thatonegirlsays: I bought them. I wore them around the house for about 10 minutes and they started to fart when I walked and my feet were sweaty. Sold 'em on eBay for a profit the next day!
