The times that our grocery bill gets higher is at holidays as I am buying for baking, turkeys, hams and other things that I have to have and also frankly that we as a family want.
I try and buy the things like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo and things like that when I catch them on sale and I have coupons. I have learned through the years and having to be on a budget that we have to do it that way if we want to have any luxuries.

Uh, in the six-zillion comments I may have missed someone else chiming in here, but HELL NO not lazy. Breakfast is the biggest bitch in the world to cook if there's more than two ppl, ie, you're a mom.
If I decide to make my absolutely fucking delicious Cajun Hash w/Eggs, I'm standing there for 30 minutes short-order cooking 14 fucking eggs perfectly over-medium. I do it, cuz that's how I roll, but not lazy. At all.

Then again, it's more of the same if it's pancakes and/or bacon. Electric skillet helps, but doesn't solve the whole problem.

On the other hand, I live in a peanut-butter loving household and have actually had a friend bring back the cookbook from the Peanut Butter & Co place in New York. Hmmmm peanut butter ....

I made one for a friend's brunch recently with hashbrown crust instead of the standard pie crust. It got raves & I was quite pleased with myself!

I guess us vegans will miss out on that trend...

I added chopped garlic and chopped bacon -- because everything is better with bacon, natch -- and it was to. die. for.

But seriously, migas kind of makes my face melt off with awesomeness.

So I make the Ramen, right? Then when it's all boil-y, I crack an egg on top? I can get behind this.

I have some Ramen in my cabinet and would LOVE to know the secret to making it taste more like awesome and less like "Oh sugar, you're sick and need some soup." (<-But I love you, Mommy!)

Other variations: Frozen broccoli, put in at the same time, makes Ramen seem healthful but still is a viable option when you have no fresh food in your house. (Otherwise known as "I guess I'm eating Ramen tonight" time.)
Lil bit of peanut butter - adds a lot of flavor, but if you're like me & use chunky peanut butter leads to little peanut bits in the bottom of the bowl.
