For some reason I thought this was another post about black velvet portraiture's of sci-fi characters. Then I remembered which Gawker site I was on. #honduras
My Spanish teacher is actually Honduran. He really doesn't like Manuel Zelaya at all and resents that so many other countries are getting involved in the situation.
@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Most Hondurans wanted him out, from what I hear. He was trying to get rid of presidential term limits at the time of his ouster and he's apparently taking cues from Chavez. The coup wasn't legal but his goals aren't exactly democratic either, so....
My other half of my double major was in history (which I rarely admit), specifically in Latin American History. Even to this day I can't get all of the revolutions, revolts and political overthrows assigned to their right county. Latin American politics make me feel like I'm watching a schizophrenic person on meth.
@CurtCole: I'm a Latin American studies major, and I do pretty decently with general descriptions of most things, but if you want specific names and years then I need to consult my textbooks, please. The thing is that there's just sooooo much and it's very interconnected and there's many similarities but just enough differences and ugh.
