I heard her sing live at the Erin Fetherston show at Fashion Week last year. She was AMAZING and sounded just like those old-timey singers (see: her singing in the shower scene in "Elf").
@shorty63136: Interesting. As to #1, I have many musician friends who hang their [very expensive] guitars on the wall like that. As for #2, I've also never spotted a metronome in their rooms, either.
Are you a classical musician? Maybe that explains the difference?
@shorty63136: Maybe she has an electric metronome... that's what I had. And perhaps the mag people didn't want something so ugly and obviously modern clogging up the photo?
@odinsraven: Yes - classical. :) I play the cello and it makes me cringe to think about it falling to the floor - although I've seen people do it. I always put it in the stand or lay it on its side.
@Samanthrax: I have both but I honestly don't care for the electric ones. Something about that moving and the "tic...tic...tic" is calming for me, I guess.
Ok, so maybe the mag styled the room, but i don't care, I loooove her. She's adorable, I love acting and her music, and she can do no wrong. There. I said it. I feel so much better after admitting my girl crush.
Actually, its less of a girl crush and more of a deep desire to be her.
Love love love her (even in Tin Man, which was... um... not so great) and her music... the She & Him album has been in my car stereo for the past several weeks.
@LBB wishes everyone a happy 2009!: haha...I bought Tin Man for my iPod before a long bus ride. There's a lot I fiercely love about it and some things that just...make me shake my head.
But I just bought the album after watching that video!

Maybe with the singing, but she's not exactly a great actress.

Here are my problems with it:
1 - As a stringed instrument player, I'd never, ever hang my instrument by it's scroll/neck on the WALL.
2 - I don't spy a metrinome anywhere (could be she actually doesn't use one, but they're pretty handy in music rooms)
3 - It is NOT messy enough. I'd have pencils, sheet music, and staff paper all over the damn place.
But perhaps she's a different kinda musician.
