    @Ipomoea: One of my friends bought the DVDs right when they came out when we were seniors in college. I watched the first 3 hours worth in one night, and it was wonderful. I mean, yeah, I'm not 7 anymore, but I still loved it. I want the whole set for myself (*updates Christmas wishlist*). #jemcomback

    I loved this show - correction - I loved the Misfits on this show, especially Stormer (the Misfit that always felt bad about being mean to Jem) and Jerrica/Jem's sister Kimber.

    What always weirded me out was Jem/Jerrica's identity issues & their relationship with her boyfriend. Jerrica was this strong, successful record exec and she was intimidated by her own alter ego Jem. If I remember correctly her boyfriend dated both Jem/Jerrica without the knowledge they were the same person and this REALLY bothered Jerrica but not so much Jem.

    It really bothered me too because the boyfriend wasn't depicted as swarmy, even though he was dating two girls (to his knowledge). He was a "catch."

    Jerrica's alter ego Jem seemed to really screw with Jerrica's head way too much. They really gave the impression to me that they were two different people. Not a Clark Kent/Superman alter-ego way. #jemcomback

    @Cunning_Linguist: Yeah, I even remember an episode where it really got to Jerrica and she went to Synergy to talk about it and Synergy's explanation was that Jem and Jerrica were NOT the same person. At least that's what my 12-year-old brain came away with.

    It was a real wait-WHAT?! moment for me. #jemcomback

    IF this is done well, and that is a BIG if, and then if my daughter becomes a fan, then perhaps I may be persuaded to give my mint-condition Jem doll to my daughter to play with. But only if she lets me play with it too from time to time!

    I blame Jem for my severe wish fulfillment issues... Want a new car? Sure, Synergy will whip that right up. New wardrobe? One touch of the earring and it's yours. But since I didn't have a holographic projector with earrings that could give me whatever I wanted when I wanted it, I settled for credit cards instead. I love you Jem, but damn. Maybe those don't-talk-to-strangers PSAs at the end of every episode were the creators' way of feeling better about themselves for having just spent a half hour telling kids they can have the world without working too hard for it. #jemcomback

    @token_illiterate_commenter: I didn't think about that, they'll have a built in audience that way--- and lots of Gen X ers have kids now, so they'd be happy to take them to see stuff like that. I do hope that nobody EVER messes with Holly Hobby or her friend Amy. I loved them and don't want to see them in thigh high boots and tank tops! #jemcomback
