Hannah Upp, the 23-year-old school teacher who went missing in NYC on August 29 has turned up alive after an apparent suicide attempt. Upp had jumped off a Staten Island pier, and was discovered by ferry workers about a mile off the coast. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition. [NY Daily News]

This morning, while watching the local news, we learned that Hannah Upp, the 23-year-old NYC school teacher who mysteriously went missing on August 29 — leaving her keys, cellphone, wallet, and ID in her apartment — has been spotted yesterday in the Apple store in midtown Manhattan. Her family has screened the security tape and confirmed it is her. She also may have been checking her email on Friday. Something fishy is definitely going on, but we're glad she's alive. We've been emailed by a few readers that a friend, a 23-year-old N.Y.C. school teacher named Hannah Upp, has been missing since August 29. She was planning to go away that weekend, but when she didn't show up for work on Monday, and her roommates hadn't heard from her, they went into her bedroom where they found her "keys, her phone, and her handbag containing her wallet, her ATM card, her subway card, and her ID (right now just her passport)." Her friends have filed a missing persons report, started a Facebook page in search of any information on Hannah's whereabouts, and are asking people to contact the 30th Precinct if they have any information about her.
