Claudia Cahalane wonders if there is a gender discrimination in haircut pricing when more and more women are opting for the short, androgynous hairstyle of Agyness Deyn. A spokesperson for Toni & Guy says that there are differences between male and female haircuts, no matter the length of the hair cut. Okay, we aren't professionals so we wouldn't know what the technical differences would be, but when you are spending $100 a month to have 1/4 inch of your hair cut off, you begin to wonder if you are getting the short end (heh) of the stick. <![CDATA[Redheads: Mother England's Beaten, Bastard Stepchildren]]> The English, perhaps still bitter about the loss of their former empire, have turned their anger inward and have taken to hating on their own. Apparently redheads, or "gingers" as they are called in Cool Britannia, are not just thought of as unattractive by their countrymen, but downright discriminated against. In a weirdly institutionalized sort of way! Meaning: Hateful slurs, defacing graffiti, and workplace discrimination, all because of some God-given Titian locks.

Photographer Charlotte Rushton said people often yell at her in the street and she often feels like part of a minority. 'The nail that sticks out gets hammered down,' Rushton said.
