Edna Parker, the world's oldest woman, has died at 115. Parker - who acquired her title in 2007 - was born April 20, 1893, in central Indiana's Morgan County and taught in the community's two-room school before marrying her childhood sweetheart in 1913 and becoming a farmer's wife. Widowed in 1939, she also outlived two sons and had five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, living alone in her farmhouse until age 100, when she moved into a son's home and later to the Shelbyville nursing home. Parker was active and didn't drink or smoke, but her only tip for longevity was "more education." Added her grandson, "she's never been a worrier." Rest in peace! [L.A. Times, image via MSNBC]

Another excellent role model for young women emerges: Angela Bismarchi of Brazil is 36 years old and attempting to break the Guinness Book record for the most plastic surgeries performed on one person. Bismarchi is about to undergo her 42nd procedure — the current record, 47 procedures, is held by 52 year-old American Cindy Jackson. Basmarchi had a boob lift at 21 after giving birth to her first child and has been going under the knife ever since, driven by her desire to be beautiful, break records, and lead a winning samba troupe in Rio's Carniavale parade, equally. "I consider myself quite timid," she says. "I'm just a little girl grown big. I never imagined I would be famous. Things just happened." [MSNBC]
