So, I come to this restaurant when I get off the train every night and the food is poo. They serve this stale kind of foccacia bread and I have learned to love it.
@LadySoprano is a Fat-Fighting Superwoman: Actually you sound like Harry Potter. As a Christmas present he got a single tissue once from Mr. and Mrs. Dursley. In other news I shouldn't know this.

I think Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are #teampie, by the way. (but seriously, I just found The Great Race on youtube and I forgot how much I love this silly ridiculous movie)
Sooooo...I got the job. It's not like a RAWKIN' gig or anything, just a 30-hour-a-week IT job. For $8/hour, though? I'll take it with a grin on my face.
@Ailatan: ooh, i like this idea of sharing traditions, fun! My favs are:
1. watching muppet family christmas and the rudolph xmas special with my sis on xmas eve
2. baking and decorating sugar cookies xmas eve (yes we are 25 and 23 and still bake 'santa cookies')
3. eating pull-aparts xmas morning after gift opening
4. this one has died since we've gotten older, but i bet it will come back if/when my sister and i have kids: getting new pj's and a new bathing suit for xmas every year.
@Ailatan: Ebelskiver on Christmas morning. Always. It's my Danish side of the family. I'm sad now that I'm sort of a grownup and don't get to spend every holiday with my parents (my dad makes them the best). I'm going to have to buy an ebelskiver pan and have my dad teach my man how to make them.
@Ailatan: Thanks! It's a crappy day to have a birthday, but I'm lucky my family has always been really good about separating the two events.
As for ebelskiver, they're amazing. Basically...pancakes, but in ball form. They seem to be getting trendy in foodie circles - I just saw a whole (big) cookbook for them at Crate and Barrel, which I thought was very funny because the range of variations at my house has always been either coating them with applesauce or syrup. Apparently some people fill them with stuff. Who knew?!
@Ailatan: Advent calendars, I normally get fun toe socks and pjs. Oh and the best is the stocking where we always have a tooth brush and a clementine at the toe. Ok I lied, the best is the best chocolate mousse that anyone has had the pleasure to eat (my mum uses super dark chocolate, rum, and coffee to try and make the taste stronger).
All right Jezzies, any of you use cloth pads? What kind do you use? I mostly use my diva cup but I'm looking for something for lighter days (and just to have another option). I've been hunting around on Etsy and Hyenacart, but there are SOOO many options. Any thoughts?
@spamanda: I have two from gladrags, and I don't love them. They move around and get bunched up in weird ways. I'm don't really like pads, anyway, but I'd like to have some good ones on hand just for back-up. So, my point is, in this non-recommendation, that I would like to hear others' recommendations, too. Good question.
@LadyFabulous: This may be the antisocial, misanthropic me talking, but my experience has been to let life take it's course. I feel this way about a few of my friends, and some have become friends that I see once in a while, or keep in touch with, maybe get drinks with or do something that we both do have an interest in. Some I still see once in a while because other friends are still close to them. I don't know, is that cruel of me? That if it naturally starts declining, I just let it?
@InCahoots: If that's cruel, then fit me for a Dalmatian coat. It's the how my life as gone too. If a friend and I start seeing less and less of each other it probably means that we don't enjoy it as much as we used to. Why spend time with someone if you don't enjoy it?
@InCahoots: @LaBelleDerbySansMerci: Thanks. I have kind of been pulling away lately, but it's not as if I don't want to be friends with them anymore, it's just that they are all married (or about to be now) and it seems to have changed our dynamic more than any of us have realised.
We are all quite different personality wise and more or less always have been, but I've been feeling like I am less tolerant of their more negative (to me) personality traits and that they are more suburban to my urban and they aren't really making an effort to... I don't know... accept/understand my side.
@LadyFabulous: All of my friends got married shortly after college and, while I still liked them, I didn't fit in their coupled world. I'd still try to get together with them, but they would (understandably) want to bring their spouses and it just didn't work for me. We still get together a couple of times a year, but not on a regular basis. My married self doesn't fit in their divorced lives now.
Was anyone aware that Katee Sackhoff was in a 2007 Lifetime movie called "How I married my high school crush." The movie beings with her playing a dorky 17 year old. And now I'm totally going to have to watch this... for Starbuck.

@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Yeeeees it's so wonderful! I'm done with work, too, so I am totally allowed to blow off everything and watch movies and drink hot chocolate! woooo!
I think I have a fat vadge. There I said it. (you were warned) Like my stomach is flat and my Mons Pubis actually sticks out. I am upset about this. Is it possible to have a pot-pubis?

@Vivelafat says Sweep the leg, Johnny.: Don't feel bad. My pubic hair goes a quarter of the way down my thighs and it hurts to shave so i look like a Sasquatch naked.
@Vivelafat says Sweep the leg, Johnny.: I learned from a friend in law school that this could be called a FUPA (Fat upper pussy area). It makes it easier to love when you call it something silly.
@Cairn: HA!!! I'm learning to love it. I just think it's awesome that other women out there have it to. That's actually what I love best about Jezebel is the fact that through sharing I realize I'm not weird. I'm totes normal.
