    So I need you guys to help me make a judgement call...

    I went to a new P.Phood today, in NJ. It was a little run down but I figured that wasn't a huge deal. I went in because I'm considering getting an IUD.

    Anyway, when I went to the bathroom to give a urine sample, there were CUPS OF URINE on this rack in front of the toilet. Some of them had obviously been there for awhile. When I opened the window to place mine there there was already another one on the ledge.

    It just... made me feel really, really grossed out. Plus the nurse who was in there while I was getting my exam made me extremely uncomfortable (stared at me) and bickered with the N.P. in front of me.

    There were a couple of other things that happened but overall I left feeling extremely stressed out. If you were me, would you ask to have your files transfered to another location? I'm kind of nervous to have a place that leaves open urine samples laying around inserting anything into my uterus...

    @fuerzabruta: I would hazard a guess that the urine samples were there because a frazzled tech hadn't gotten them yet. That said, my general rule of thumb is that people who make me uncomfortable don't get my business, no matter what it is. I've been in that position with gynecologists before, and I've taken my ladybits elsewhere. Ditto car mechanics, restauranteurs, pharmacists, etc.

    You need to go somewhere you feel safe.

    So I just got back from seeing Avatar in 3D with XD SuperUberMega surround sound, and I have this to say:

    HOLY BEJEEPERS.

    That's about as close as I've come to a hallucinogenic experience that didn't involve either drugs or being really feverish.

    I spent the better part of my entire day and evening wrapping presents because I left it to the last minute. Kids were out most of the day thru dinner, and the older two were happy to stay upstairs playing videogames once they got home. 5yo came downstairs wanting to help me wrap gifts when I was nearing the finish line. I had their Santa gifts already wrapped but they were out in the open in the living room & I didn't want him to recognize the wrapping paper.

    I yelled at him to get back upstairs. I did go up and give him a hug & kiss and I apologized, but still...

    I deserve reindeer poop in my stocking this year, spotlight on the mom who forgot the meaning of Christmas this evening :(

    @LaurieStrodeTheBoatAshore: Awww! Well, if it helps, my mom used to yell at us every now and again (usually taking something else out on us), and she would always apologize later. I never forgot her sincere apologies, and they really made me respect her as a grew up. Honestly, everyone loses it now and again - it's how you recover that sticks with kids!

    @LaurieStrodeTheBoatAshore: Had the same thing happen tonight when I heard my 5 y.o.'s feet on the stairs. My screeched, "Don't come up heeeere!" was met with hurt feelings. But holiday Snoopy for his stocking was right on the bed and I lost my head.

    So, I can relate. The great thing is they have short memories on such things and you will retain your 'greatest mom in the world' status.

    Don't forget the reindeer food! And enjoy the magic you've helped create.

    @cinematheques: I had to shelve like 4 new books........and had to rearrange about 20 books in the process. I nearly had to whip out the Physics Notes so I could get tham all to fit (in their proper categories)

    My mom invited some relatives and their kids over for Christmas, and only just told me about it. She also only just told me–a person who has been going to bed at 4 am and so has an effed up sleep pattern– that tomorrow at 10 am we have to go to the mall, because I now have to buy them presents. Fuck, I'm not even close to these people. She better be paying, or my college student self will be buying gifts with money I don't have.
    Why does my mother always drop things on me and expect me to be ok with it? She's been home for hours, has known all this for days, and yet tells me now?

    I love checking out all of your blogs. What a hella creative group this is. Every blog is so different but always a fresh voice from a woman who knows her mind.
    If someone had told me a year ago that I would be blogging and putting videos of myself dancing on-line, I would have said you are CRAZY. Yet here I am. It was all baby steps and always inspired by la Jezebel and the jezzies.

    Is there a particular reason why you refused to read Ocean's 13, when Mr. PS2 (Not even this generation!) read it perfectly!

    Guys, what does Victoria's Secret have for curvy/chunky/plump/voluptuous/insert adjective here ladies?

    A friend sent me a $25 gift card to VS, which was a nice surprise, but I almost never shop there. It makes me feel ugly. Or maybe not ugly, just like "Oh shit I cannot handle all this sexy or whatnot. Time to go."

    They have good scented stuff, though. I know that much.

    So any advice for when I leave the nunnery and go to VS?

    @warhol's gnarwol: Unfortunately, it is directed by Roman Polanski, but Bitter Moon is an awesome breakup movie. However bad your breakup was, it was nowhere near as bad as the one chronicled in this movie.

    However, you may want to rent it from the library. Or steal it. Or pirate it from somewhere, and then share it with the world.
