A girl who screws the whole football team and a boy who screws every cheerleader in his grade.

I clicked the link-- that was a big mistake. How DePaulo can talk so casually about the tragic deaths of two people makes me feel ill. Lots of women (and men) have affairs and fall in love with married people and don't commit murder-suicides. This has nothing to do with Kazemi "breaking the rules" or going in "too deep."

I can't say I'm too sad about the Steve McNair but I'm saddened and embarrassed for his wife and children. I would be too embarrassed to attend a public ceremony because of the reason why he was killed. This could have been completely avoided had he not been fucking around on his wife. I would hope that men would get their shit together and learn you can't mess with people's emotions but they probably wouldn't be able to make the connection.

@Lana Leigh loves Meryl Streep: I am so with you. I had no idea who McNair was when the news broke, and I thought - oh wow, that's terrible. It IS terrible. Then I found out he was married with kids and the woman he was with was NOT his wife. The girlfriend was a murderer (apparently); her actions cannot be excused. But the accolades the guy got after his death made me ill. He was shot whilst fucking around on his wife. But that fact was completely glossed over by the MSM. I'd feel extremely uncomfortable attending a ceremony in his honor, too. ESPECIALLY if I were his wife.

There were rumours at one stage that tennis star Boris Becker claimed only to have had oral sex with the subsequent Russian mother of his child, implying she must have stolen his sperm (presumably in the condom to impregnate herself). So maybe that explains why the article seems to suggest that women can get knocked up after having oral sex a few times.

For some people sex is a quid pro quo game. And I can't get mad at the author for saying that. I'm a person who thinks that the sex trade should be legal--not an exactly popular idea.

But if groupies, or whatver you want to call them, want this kind of life for that little bit of money, or that chain, I can't judge them.

It's not the life I want. It's not the life I want for them. But there's little I can do other than what I'm doing--be a positive influence in every girl's life. Ultimately, she'll make whatever decision she wants to.

This sucks, coming from an avid baseball fan. Why do all of my favorite players have to be complete douchebags to women? It makes it so hard to be a fan sometimes.

I really REALLY want to believe that Prince Fielder, Ryan, Braun, Bill Hall, all of them, aren't horrible people, but 80-90%? I'd have to be living in a fantasy world.

A good friend of mine from high school was a first-round draft pick about ten years ago, and in spite of never making it out of the minors (multiple surgeries on his pitching arm), he banged his way across the country several times over. While married. He'd be like, "When I'm on the road, I do what I want. She knows that." Needless to say, when he came back to the hometown to visit without his wife and tried to put the moves on me, I politely declined.

Some guys, athletes in particular, are worth having as friends but worthless in relationships.

@Penny_Esq has a new job!: Indeed, I've known players in the minors and they do have groupies waiting for them everywhere - even in A or AA. I once went out with a former minor-leaguer who thought he was still such a stud - sometimes the douchebaggery continues even after they leave the system.

And it's not just athletes - imagine the temptation for nearly anyone famous. I actually know a girl who had a kid with Dave Matthews a few years back. Gah.

@lalaland13: Since it's their job, I think pro athletes do a lot of things solely for the adoration of others. Being married looks good when you're trying to be every Americans hero because you've done the right thing and "settled down..." even though their marriage is probably a sham. Kind of like politicians that get married just to look good for voters...
