    The best thing? I had to explain to my son this morning why electing a black man to the Presidency was such a big thing. Color is such a non-determining factor for him that he didn't get it. I took him to see Obama last week at a rally and he really got into it. Hooray for our youngest up-and-coming generation!

    I was in Chicago's Grant Park last night. Jezebels let me tell you, it was awe inspiring in so many ways. Historical election, peaceable assembly that spilled out into a parade that enveloped all of downtown Chicago. That rally could not have been more perfect unless gold wrapped chocolate coins had fallen from the sky. It was so beautiful that I don't even mind being exhausted at work today.

    I'm so proud for this to have been my first election...you can tell that all of us young people got seriously into this election...last night after CNN called Obama's win, hundreds of students poured out into the streets, blowing horns, setting off fireworks, spraying champagne everywhere, and singing godawful drunken renditions of the star-spangled banner. I have never had more fun, been happier, or prouder, in my entire life.

    That last one of the baby is KILLING ME.


    Every single time they showed Jesse Jackson crying, I started crying again. He's said and done some stupid things over the last few years, but man. He looked so happy and totally overwhelmed.
