Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought nudity was..well, nudity, like as in being naked, and pornography was graphic depictions of sexual acts or genitals. Hm? Just me? Seems like a good amount of the population would do well to consult a dictionary once in a while. While I may personally find Sacha Baron-Cohen offensive, and I do, this cover is not offensive. Not like the entire Borat movie, anyway.

I can't see many straight men willing walking around with a magazine dislaying a camp naked man on the cover. Others might not realise it is the "comic " issue but assume the guy has picked up a magazine aimed at gay men. For the same reason I didn't buy a certaim magazine edited by Katie Grand which had a naked Beth Ditto on the front as I did not want to attract the wrrong kind of attention on the tube.

(I was once in an issue of Diva and someone (a straight woman) I know picked up a copy. She said she walked around with it displayed prominently in hopes she'd be hit on, but she got nothing. She was disappointed.)

@FormicaLinoleum: I have never had a gay woman come on to me (why the hell not to papraphrase Rose in Golden Girls!). But the point about being on the tube is you do not usually want a stranger to start a conversation with you, least of all a drunken man or even worse a group of drunken louts.

Maybe a poor choice of words, but I get their point to an extent. My grocery store, which is in a fairly liberal area, covers up Cosmo in the checkout lines so kids don't start reading them. While I personally think we should treat nudity as less of a taboo, I can understand that some parents don't want their kids seeing it just yet and would rather it covered up.

@femibot: I actually read the post and the STORY, which only identified one outlet where the cover was partially covered up. I'm guessing they are probably going to be a bit more uniform with Baron's cover. Just sayin'
