Eek, though - I love Kyra Sedgwick and I think she's looking emaciated.

I'm insanely in love with Drew's outfit, and yes, HAIR. Is it so wrong? :( I can't stand how tame everyone else is with their outfits. I love a nice dress, but make it fun! Do something different! DIE LEGGINGS, DIE!!

    ... Ahem.

@TheGarlicSong [will be 15 soon!]: What I like so much about her hair is that she's got that 50s, 60s color dress with blond, blond hair that suggests Marilyn Monroe without being a slavish copy or over literal take on her.

I think that Lisa Edelstein and little Madeline look fine. They don't deserve the bad treatment.

Esp. the little girl. Actually, I have no idea how old she is, but she looks young enough to want to wear pink and/or sparkly, so I'm giving her a thumbs up for her mature, interesting, and, presumably, age-appropriate choice of dress.

@crampyscamp: Evidently she's 15. I think it's kind of a cool dress, but not necessarily for this event.

@sequined: One thing I don't like about the dress is the orientation of the white spots on it. It makes it look like she is wearing a print dress with an apron over it from a distance.

I felt this way with Michelle Obama's black and red dress she wore on election night. From a distance it looked like a black dress with a red apron over it.

"with an apron over it" to me is not a good look.

Last week I tried on a dress just like the one Angelina's wearing. Didn't look good on me, doesn't look good on her.

I think January Jones, Rumer Willis, and Eva Longoria Parker are my favorites. I'm a sucker for color and a gorgeous cut.

All the goods are indeed good - but generally speaking, the Hollywood hair does not work. The '30s were about sculpture hair as the perfect crowning to an elegant silhouette. These ladies are hanging on to their long locks, and it ruins the look. Bobs and hats, stat!

@Twerpsichore: I'm never crazy about long hair just hanging down with evening dresses. It makes the person look under dressed in my opinion. It's the one time your hair would look better styled.

My single favorite trend look was the little self-belt on so many of the gowns. It was done perfectly on nearly everyone who wore it and I think it's charming.

Is it just me, or does Rumer Willis look like a Conehead? Photog clicked the shutter just as a chrome dome passed behind her - quite hysterical. Even that, however, does not diminish how lovely she looks.

@DoxDox: I loved loved loved her dress, especially from a distance. I think some of the detailing was unnecessary (the weaving below her belt), but I would wear that dress every day of my life if I could get my hands on it.

Eva Longoria Parker looks perfect! Wow. Not like I expected anything different.

Madeline Zima is unfairly maligned. The "girdling" on her dress is a very small and fairly inconsequential detail; not squeezing her or ruining the look. She looks beautiful.

@Treeless: I think Eva Longoria's dress might be best of the night due to the stunning combination of fit and color. Absolutely perfect (the fit on the bust is noteworthy because it's exactly right, unlike anyone else), and she looks gorgeous in it.

My personal fave is Maggie Gyllenhaal. Not an obvious choice, which I like. I didn't like her 'do though.

And how awesome is it that Kate won TWO GGs! Love her.

How amusing - 1/3 of the 'Bads' look similar. And also, disagreeing about Christina Hendricks - she looks fab as always.

I am so, so, so bored with the Angelina sack dresses. I know she goes for understated, but what she wore last night did NOTHING for her.

I thought Drew looked psychotic at first, but I eventually fell in love with the whole look, crazy hair and all.

But Kate Winslet, you can do no wrong. A+++ on your acting skills, your style and your attitude.

Does Renee Zellweger have contract with Carolina Herrera? Or is it just a longstanding preference?
