    I think what struck me about that clip was how each participant was given time to articulate their opinions. On TV now it is 3 second shouting matches. This was a civilized discussion (granted, the fellow was a delusional idiot) between people with vastly different views.

    This is the kind of shit I remember my mother fighting against when I was growing up in the 70s. She was out there, burning bras and suing corporations. I try to pass the immense and deep sense of respect and gratitude I feel I owe her onto my kids. #gloriasteinemmeetthepress

I was just making a joke because the phrasing of your comment read to me as "see, 2nd and 3rd wavers, this is how it's done", as if Ms. Steinem is not a 2nd waver herself.     @labeled: I know! Isn't it unbelievable that in MY GRANDMOTHER'S TIME, women became legal/political individuals rather than property. That's not long ago. I try to impress this upon my daughter, but at 16, just can't fathom it, I don't think.

    We still have a ways to go, and in many ways the path is more tangled now, because the discrimination in many cases is more subtle. Keep keep on, I say. #gloriasteinemmeetthepress
