I just had to cram a week's worth of shopping into my carry-on luggage, during cramptastic time of the month. I'm vegging out and eating jellybeans and dreading the airport ride with my father. And I've missed Jezebel and everyone here. A lot.
Here's one in honor of Joan Jett who is apparently going to be portrayed by the lead chick from Twilight in an upcoming movie about the Runaways. I've never seen her in anything - can Kristen Stewart act her way out of a paper bag?
"a slow week for gossipy celebrity stuff"?? Hortense! Robert Pattinson cut his hair! His HAIR, Hortense! This is the biggest. week. EVAH.
(Seriously, I showed that Snap Judgement to my 17-year-old, Twilight-obsessed sister and I can only describe her reaction as a howl. It was not human...which I suppose is rather appropriate.)
Oh, and Patti Smith, duh. I saw her do Gloria live recently and it was probably my most religious experience, including my baptism and First Communion.
@TransFat: I followed the link back to youtube and am now working my way through the Elvis Costello oeuvre. I think I can pretty much end all hope of doing anything constructive with my time today.
@Le Kangourou de Kataroo: But if it is cute, who cares? I am always inspired by people who can cut their own hair. I would look like a crazy person if I did that. Skillz, you haz dem.
@badmutha: Damn. The one thing I've always longed for in my life was a best girlfriend who would get drunk with me and cut and dye my hair.
My hair is 13" long in the ponytail now. It's been growing for two years because I'm sick to death of getting that flat wispy almost a bob that fat old women like me with thin hair always get. The other option is the freakin' pineapple colored bubble cut. GAK!
@Tart of Darkness: Thin hair, I haz it. Unforch, I am stuck with a semi-bob that I keep trying to tell myself looks chic. I am afraid it is just old lady thin hair. But I'd happily get drunk and cut your hair, you just might hate me afterwards. I can give you highlights though!
I totally hear you on the weird post-holidays ick-factor. I like having the time off work, and having a nice excuse to revel in goodies, and drink wine at possibly inappropriate times, but I always feel this weird numbness settle over me after the hyped-up holidays. It makes me want to brush my teeth and go to bed at a reasonable hour or something. It's hard to define.
It's not exactly uncomfortable. I'm not sick or miserable or anything. Just a little bit...blah. I think the body has its own reaction to the holiday hype and the subsequent letdown.
