What Women Want: Gay Male Sex |

My dad loves some swashbuckling adventure stories, but he'd definately have a heart attack if I bought him one of these books!

I was working with a lesbian who said her partner loves straight porn, almost inferring that it was strange. I realized why wouldn't a lesbian woman love "straight" porn?
Its shot for straight men, which theoretically have the same interest as lesbian women. The man in most of those movies is secondary to the woman and its shot with the woman being the main attraction.
Which leads to why straight women like gay male porn, its shot from a perspective of wanting to have the MAN be the object of affection in the movie. Well that and men in gay porns are pretty fucking hot, not something I can generally say about "straight" porn either.
I have never been into erotica as far as a reading genre, but I might have to check some out...

For contemporary, definitely Jennifer Crusie's Bet Me, anything by Victoria Dahl, or if you want to go a little funny/paranormal, MaryJanice Davidson's Undead or mermaid series.

It's porn, it's free, and it's updated constantly. I cannot imagine paying for my slash needs when the internets provides it for me daily.

The more love out there the better, I say. I would love to see a dropping of sexual orientation distinctions within the Romance genre.

And is there some new grammar rule I don't know? Why is it "AN M/M Romance"?

Yeah, I had the same thought, until I realized that they were saying it like the letter in their heads. I've always sort of expanded it to "male/male" in my head.

I'm not really slashy or into gay porn, but two guys is a hell of a lot more interesting to me than two women.

There's been a huge surge (heh) in "niche" romances in e-publishing for quite awhile now, including m/m love stories of all varieties (light, heavy, paranormal, suspense). I think one of the reasons romance as a genre as so heartily embraces e-publishing is because it allows access to stories and subjects that are deemed to risque for mass market. What I love about romance on the internet is that women are writing about whatever makes them hot, and other women are able to find erotica that fits whatever taste they have.
However, obviously I concur that it shouldn't be a niche market or "too shocking" to be on the regular romance shelf at B&N. I mean, I'm a romance fan and I'm turned off by a lot of the stuff that happens in "mainstream" romance I'd much rather read about two nice boys finding love than the hero raping the heroine.
Also, some fairly erotic books are gracing front racks in chain bookstores right now - the new Laurell K. Hamilton, the new Jacqueline Carey - so it's not as if we're "thinking of the children" in terms of sex, or anything. Any unwillingness to publish or promote gay romance is pure homophobia AND financial idiocy.
Um, I think that's the end of my rant. : /

Oooh, and I am SO excited for the new LKH and JC books. Even if LKH has been sacrificing plot for sex, I still read it.

Also, she put one out that's a weird alternate-future one called Santa Olivia that's significantly shorter than the Terre d'Ange books but was also really good! It just came out last month!
