Now I divide my loyalty equally, seeing as Andre still does things like exhos to test the new Wimbledon roof.

Congratulations et Felicitations to Roger and all his fans!!!

(This was my tip, too! I thought I was going to get something done late this morning since the match only went to 3, and then they decided to rebroadcast Wimbledon 08. Oh, well. I will not be productive until two o'clock.)

So now all we have to do is pray that Rafa's knees recover for Wimbledon.

He's had a rough few weeks - upset in the FO, a supposedly new problem with his knees, and his parents are allegedly divorcing. He needs a little time, I think.

Heh. Kidding (a little). Obviously I think Roger/Rafa matches are the platinum standard of tennis, top 3-4-5 or no top 3-4-5.

@angharad: I was frightened when I heard he and Uncle Toni were going for a medical test today because this was a new problem and not the tendinitis.

I also feel bad about his family. I knew the separation was a rumor; I didn't know it had been confirmed.

@Glitterbug (likes life shaken, not stirred): I've been thinking that since Anna Wintour loves placing Roger in grandiose editorials, she would totally cast him as tennis Jesus or some equivalent in the next edition of Vogue. But now, I think she may just republish that trophy-kiss photo and in a very subtle reflection we will see his face replaced with her face, grinning, as he appears to plant one on her, and in very fine print the trophy inscription will be changed to read, "I love you Roger! Leave Mirka for me! Or at least play mixed doubles with me. Kisses, Anna."

@takeitasred: Close. Look down one post. Those pictures are from Rafa's American Vogue spread for the June issue. Apparently the pictures were taken at the Miami tournament.

And right after the Olympics, wasn't she escorting Michael Phelps around town? I know she has the "news nose" for champions, but if she's going to push Roger aside, can't she just .. stay aside so the rest of us can have a turn? Or something?

@Rooo sez BISH PLZ: Wow! I had no idea she was also editorially crushing on Rafa; I just have the ridiculous, terrible awesomeness of that Roger as King Arthur image seared on my brain forever. So what would she have done if it was a Roger/Rafa final? Created a doppelganger to appear in one box so her true partisanship could not be discovered? Man, I cannot wait for Wimbledon, because this sideshow distraction stuff makes me laugh when I'm getting too serious about the matches.

(Although Rafa really only "jets" for work. Just like the USO, apparently it wasn't six hours after his loss before he was on a plane home to Mallorca. I don't blame him though -- if I lived there I'd probably want to be home every chance I got too.)

@dcdulce: I didn't know you could get the DVD either! I'm gonna keep an eye out now.

Airing some of the wimbledon final ALMOST makes up for NBC not airing Fed's semi-final against del potro.
I was pulling for Rafa to get the grand slam this year but I'm glad Roger won if he couldn't.

@dcdulce: It's playing?! My heart broke twice in that match. When it looked like Rafa was going to lose and then Roger did lose, it was sad. I have a special place reserved for Rafa, especially when he speaks Spanish, but after years of disliking Roger, his humanitarian efforts can't be ignored.

Also how awesome was it that my #1 tennis crush was there to present the trophy? Andre!!

And today he was so utterly charming after the match, what with his (as mentioned), dropped 'j's and good humor and solid sportsmanship and adorable dimples. Despite rumors that he's sullen and quiet to other players, he seemed like a peach today. And when he's not up against GOAT Fed, he'll continue to be hella fun to watch.
