    @AthertonMerriweather: Jesus, she makes my teeth itch. She's always crouching over a tiny little bowl of cereal, acting like it's a sumptuous feast and she's really really really really happy to eat a tiny serving of cereal instead of breakfast and lunch, and she's always slinking over and checking out some impossibly tiny dress she has hanging up.


    I tried that Special K diet for a week and to this day I cannot touch the stuff.

    @tscheese: I tried that too and was very upset to learn that I had to have a serving of practically half a cup of cereal. Of course I'll lose a pants size, I'm not eating anything.

    @AthertonMerriweather: In all fairness, the mascot fo Special K is just a slimmed-down waisteline and red clothing. They've forgone any gender-specific mascot so they can be an equal-opportunity cereal and change their target demographic as the mood strikes.

    I had Strawberry Shortcake cereal as a child. It turned the milk pink and "strawberry" flavored, and I vomited immediately after drinking it.


    Maybe the womens should stay away from cereal spokespersonship.

    @cocobanal: Female stereotypes get to be icons for food products. Most cereal mascots aren't even human so the lack of ladies bothers me even more. Cereal--for the most part-- is targeted towards children and it follows the target children formula. Girls will be interested in male characters but boys won't be interested in female characters.

    The only female cartoons on food products I can think of are already established brands. Hello Kitty, Powerpuff Girls, Bratz, etc.
