@yvanehtnioj: She inherited an estate from her father, I assume. I hope she has someone to help her manage that. And as someone who has spent time around entertainment industry people, not having a credit card or cash on them isn't uncommon. The business manager or a travel agent probably made her reservation then she was left without a means to fix whatever problem arose. #lindsaylohan

@cand86: Yes -- most librarians and staff who work at an urban library or a university library can tell you stories that will have you wearing a Hazmat suit in the stacks.

As an example: A friend of mine who works in an inner-city "downtown" library tells tales of a prostitute who has staked out the library as her "turf" and does a booming trade in the mens' room.

She does donate generously to the Friends of the Library though, maybe as a franchise fee?

@marciax3: That's odd. What I got from her less-than-eloquent statement was that when she was that age she wasn't allowed to live such a free existence without adult guidance/supervision. She was sheltered, and not given carte blanche to have a serious boyfriend that she, essentially, lived with when not traveling for work. @marciax3: Not to be nitpicky, but Mariah married at 24, she wasn't in a serious relationship at 18. No one is denying that she married and divorced her (older) boss, or that he built her a mansion. What she is saying is that she was working and trying to get a break in the music business at the age of 17 (Rihanna actually signed with Jay-Z at 16). She wasn't already successful, with a successful boyfriend. Yes, the Honey video may be symbolic of her relationship, but it has nothing to do with what she is trying to say. I'm not trying to read too much into what she is saying, but all I took from it was that she didn't have that same experience as Rihanna, and didn't really know how to go about answering that question.

Maybe the Oscars will be entertaining this time around?

Alec Baldwin is hilarious. He was the best thing about "The Departed" along with Mark Walhberg. (I kinda forgot Leo was in it)

His new movie with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin looks very funny.

I'm still pissed about the change to nominate 10 pictures for Best Picture. I don't think the TV audience will be bigger just because the Hangover or whatever is nominated. #nicolekidman

But, even crazed fans of his early work (like myself) have to admit that his recent choices have been...sub-par.
