Okay Blake, I understand anyone can feel powerless in high school, but feeling powerless because you had long, blonde hair? What kind of high school did you go to, because at my high school long, blonde hair = power. #lindsaylohan
@yvanehtnioj: She inherited an estate from her father, I assume. I hope she has someone to help her manage that. And as someone who has spent time around entertainment industry people, not having a credit card or cash on them isn't uncommon. The business manager or a travel agent probably made her reservation then she was left without a means to fix whatever problem arose. #lindsaylohan
@cmd: Well, I know she has money. But money != business. She's not actually in the entertainment industry, she's just the child of ... oh fuck it, I don't actually care this much. It just struck me as odd. #lindsaylohan
@cand86: If you worked in a library, and saw the people who actually try to have sex here, it wouldn't be a fantasy. More like a screaming-in-terror nightmare. #lindsaylohan
This is why I can't imagine making any of my public sex fantasies reality . . . I'd feel so bad at the idea of my fat ass being burned onto some poor onlooker's retinas. #lindsaylohan
@cand86: Yes -- most librarians and staff who work at an urban library or a university library can tell you stories that will have you wearing a Hazmat suit in the stacks.
As an example: A friend of mine who works in an inner-city "downtown" library tells tales of a prostitute who has staked out the library as her "turf" and does a booming trade in the mens' room.
She does donate generously to the Friends of the Library though, maybe as a franchise fee?
@TexasCrude: Doesn't everyone's? The time you sorta lose it, the time you lost it accidentally so it doesn't count, the time the guy didn't come so it wasn't really sex, the time you did everything but.... #lindsaylohan
"I've never been able to chop a Jaffa Cake in half and just eat one piece"
What? A "jaffa cake" is a tiny lowfat cookie! I've just looked it up and each one only has 46 calories. Do people actually chop them up and only eat a piece? I am shocked, this is craziness!! #lindsaylohan
@applejuice: I really am genuinely surprised that this is her big example of why her product is needed as "compulsory portion control".
I could understand referencing cheesecake or something, or saying "I always eat a whole handful of jaffa cakes" but thinking ONE is too much just blows my mind.
And this is probably why there is no chance in hell that I will ever remotely look like Liz Hurley. #lindsaylohan
@applejuice: Oh man, I was just about to say that even though she says a lot of stupid stuff, I agree with her about compulsory portion control being beneficial. However, the stuff you said (explaining the Jaffa cake) makes me want to take it back and just stop at "Liz Hurley says a lot of stupid stuff." #lindsaylohan
I always liked Leighton even though I know nothing about her and had no real reason. Apparently I just knew that quote was waiting in the wings. #lindsaylohan
"I was very sequestered, as you know, when I first started out and if I were just allowed to be young and with a young boyfriend who's also a star and you know, you're working and you're both — I don't know what goes on," she says. "You know what I mean? So it's like, I wasn't really allowed out of the house, so I can't imagine what she went through." That's very, you know, eloquent, you know Mariah. I just wish I knew what you were trying to, you know, say. #lindsaylohan
@Ailatan: She's trying to bring the subject back to her being "emotionally and mentally abused" in her relationship with her boss, Tommy Mottola. Because, it's really about HER, this is. #lindsaylohan
@Ailatan: Let me try: "I married a really old guy when I was really young and he never let me out of his sight/the house. except to perform. And because of this I missed out on young boyfriends who may or may not punch me. God I wish I was Rhianna. except for the punching part." #lindsaylohan
@Ailatan: Mostly, I'm impressed that she used the word "sequestered" and the subjunctive (if I were just allowed to be young). My standards for celebrities are pathetically low. #lindsaylohan
@marciax3: That's odd. What I got from her less-than-eloquent statement was that when she was that age she wasn't allowed to live such a free existence without adult guidance/supervision. She was sheltered, and not given carte blanche to have a serious boyfriend that she, essentially, lived with when not traveling for work. That's what I took away from what she was saying. #lindsaylohan
@canthelpmyself: At Rhianna's age, Mariah hooked up with her grey haired boss who built her a 19 bedroom mansion. Remember the Honey video with her escaping the mogul's thugs on a jetski? Symbolism. #lindsaylohan
@marciax3: Not to be nitpicky, but Mariah married at 24, she wasn't in a serious relationship at 18. No one is denying that she married and divorced her (older) boss, or that he built her a mansion. What she is saying is that she was working and trying to get a break in the music business at the age of 17 (Rihanna actually signed with Jay-Z at 16). She wasn't already successful, with a successful boyfriend. Yes, the Honey video may be symbolic of her relationship, but it has nothing to do with what she is trying to say. I'm not trying to read too much into what she is saying, but all I took from it was that she didn't have that same experience as Rihanna, and didn't really know how to go about answering that question.
@Ailatan: I'm no critic, but I really enjoyed Scoop. Cute, lighthearted. Definitely not trying to make some gigantic, earth shattering statement, but very enjoyable all the same. #lindsaylohan
@Ailatan: I hope he's only talking about the most recent films because there is no way in hell you can lump Interiors, Sleeper and Bananas in with that drek. #lindsaylohan
You know, I don't pretend to know or understand the personal lives of celebrities based on tabloid and media reports. And yet, all of my assumptions about Nicolas Cage were spot freaking on. Something about jets and dinosaurs and jewelry just fits. And I haven't even seen National Treasure. #nicolekidman
Maybe the Oscars will be entertaining this time around?
Alec Baldwin is hilarious. He was the best thing about "The Departed" along with Mark Walhberg. (I kinda forgot Leo was in it)
His new movie with Meryl Streep and Steve Martin looks very funny.
I'm still pissed about the change to nominate 10 pictures for Best Picture. I don't think the TV audience will be bigger just because the Hangover or whatever is nominated. #nicolekidman
@belle TL: I especially like it when I've actually gotten on the train, only to find that the train can't climb the track's minor uphill grade, or that the air conditioning has gone out in the middle of July, or that the train has "unexpectedly stalled." Ah, America's passenger rail systems, bringing out the worst in people for more than three decades. #nicolekidman
"I can't recall the last time I saw him — or Martin, for that matter — in a movie."
Dodai, consider yourself lucky to not be faced with watching Steve Martin in "The Pink Panther" 1 AND 2 and "Cheaper by the Dozen" 1 AND 2, more than once at the request of you kids.
He was in Baby Mama, though. I didn't think he was that funny but I liked the movie overall. #nicolekidman
@Little Green Frog (Wise Latina): !!Steve Martin is absolutely amazing and incredibly funny. Please, no one judge him by those films. Have you ever seen him play the banjo and sing? Or his material from when he was young?
I love him, he is one of my all-time favorite comedians. The Jerk, anyone? He also wrote a really great book on his early struggles to make it in comedy... #nicolekidman
@Eleanor Ramilly: Few people (that I know) would disagree with you about Steve Martin's early career.
But, even crazed fans of his early work (like myself) have to admit that his recent choices have been...sub-par.
Personally, I'll always adore the guy. And I think he and Alec Baldwin could make a good Awards Host team. Maybe Tina Fey can throw in some jokes - it worked on 3o Rock! #nicolekidman
@fluxus flucker: There you go. His early stand up was great. "Roxanne" is still funny.I love the essays in "Pure Drivel".
But this last few years... not so much. #nicolekidman
@fluxus flucker: Yeah, but c'mon. ... He's gotten older, he doesn't have the role options he used to, and people do love those Cheaper by the Dozen movies and I think The Pink Panther did well. And he was funny in The Pink Panther, I mean, about as funny as you can be in a movie like that? I liked Shop Girl, that was only three years ago.
And he is touring with his banjo now, so.. I think he's doing pretty well. #nicolekidman
@Little Green Frog (Wise Latina): I think he was in Baby Mama because, like all right-thinking Americans, Steve Martin is in love with Tina Fey.
I'm happy because (a) I think Steve Martin is a good Oscar host and (b) I expect Tina to get a few good moments during the ceremony due to cronyism. #nicolekidman
@Little Green Frog (Wise Latina): Wow, I just saw Steve Martin in September for and actors studio-style "Evening with.." and he specifically said he wasn't interested in hosting the Oscars again because he'd been there/done that. I wonder if working with Alec was the lure? #nicolekidman
@Eleanor Ramilly: One of my favorite things to watch when I'm down is The Muppet Show episode where Steve Martin hosts. Ah, Muppets and banjo playing Steve Martin!
I think Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have potential to be great hosts. #nicolekidman
