He came to my friend's house to pick me up and was shaking with nerves -- like, really shaking. That put me at ease since I realized guys could be scared on a first date, too. We went to lunch, talked all afternoon, and were still talking when my friend came home from work. We spent the rest of the week together (as much as we could politely, since I had officially come out to see my friend.)The relationship lasted 2 1/2 years and I almost married him.

i was great friends with this guy. he was like a brother to me. after 2 years of friendship he gets it in his mind that we should go on a date. i was skeptical, but said ok. 1pm Saturday he will pick me up.

the doorbell rings and there he is, holding something behind his back. i think to myself, "wow - flowers? nice." but instead he hands me a pineapple. "i didn't think flowers were special enough for you." he says.

we walk into the kitchen to cut into the pineapple. we eat one piece, take off all our clothes and have sex for hours.

he is the love of my life.

and pineapple is my favorite food.

Close second: I really like billy joel, and sometimes play this game where i try to fit billy joel song titles into conversations. I don't normally tell people this because it is madd nerdy, but it came up and rather than be weirded out, the guy played with me. He was very impressed when I managed to slip "the river of dreams" past him.
