    As a man who knows some things about women, (I read jezebel!) I can say with 100% certainty that the cause of FSD if such a thing exists, is almost always the incompetence or disinterest of the male partner. #femalesexualdysfunction

    @Misty Bell Mathews: This isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, though--I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for a decade without it affecting my libido. (I know lots of women do experience diminished desire on it--a friend once stated, "I think the Pill prevents pregnancy because it makes you never want sex again.")

    Also, having a baby is not exactly a thrifty venture. #femalesexualdysfunction

    I don't know what's gotten into her. Well, I guess I know what hasn't gotten into her. My vagina used to be so adventurous and fun. But now she just sits by the window. Sometimes she cries. Sometimes she reads. I wake up in the middle of the night and she's just sitting there listening to The Smiths.

    Which seems to be a somewhat underrated point in Big Pharma's thundering to the purported rescue, but -- whatevs.

    Personally, I tend to assume that when there's some sort of alleged "Female Desire Disorder" going on, that the partner maybe has let his (or her) share of the housework go or needs a skills check, but ... I am selfish and confrontational like that. #femalesexualdysfunction

    @Rooo sez BISH PLZ: Ah, but there is no money to be made in showing a dude where the clit is or having him change his share of diapers. Unless you could manufacture a pill that makes the clit the size of New Jersey/keeps babies from pooping themselves, that is.

    It seems to me that Big Pharma is taking a legitimate problem faced by a small percentage of women and distorting the definition of that problem until half of us fit inside of it. They seem to like to do that, don't they. #femalesexualdysfunction

    I have Vaginal Denial Syndrome. I try to pretend it's not there, because it's useless to me lately. Where's my pills?

    Now, I'm all for people having healthy sexualities, but there are so many ways to have your happy moment. It could be without or without penetration, with or without batteries, etc. Like Kate, I suspect this "syndrome" may be used to make women feel bad about the way they're getting it on. #femalesexualdysfunction
