I don't know, I guess I thought Anna Sui was too high fashion to need to link herself with a TV show. Don't her designs stand on their own? That said, I am totes buying the first dress.

I love all of this in theory but could never see myself wearing any of it in practice. There's something about each one that makes it just a little off.

Also, the way they dress Vanessa on the show should not be emulated by anyone, ever. Also not to be mimicked: Vanessa's magical ruining-everything-she-touches powers.

Look 2 is the only one I could see myself wearing except the feathers around the neck look itchy. The capri tights are so over. The last look is a modern update on best lil whorehouse chic. The first one is infantilizing. #5 WTF I don't even know what to say except somebody maxed out mama's debit card at Hot Topic in 1999 before the Green Day show. This is one hot mess.

If it weren't for those weird off the shoulder sleeve things, #6 would be really cute. Like the print, the cut is great, my boobs would look great with that neckline... But those sleeves are just weird. Plus, strapless bras + cleavage-y dresses? Bad combination.

@Samanthrax is Sarcastic: The skull "accessories" need to disappear so that those of us with permanent skulls don't look like 14-year-olds. Although I am never ever giving up my skull-shaped faux diamond studs. It's my prep look.

One of the first things I noticed about this (and many of Target's other collections) is that as cute as the clothes may be, they won't look cute on anyone but the models or without a model body type, for the most part.

With that said, 1. Serena 2. Vanessa 3. Jenny? 4. Blair 5. Jenny 6. Vanessa

@nessalicious: I guess I'm speaking mostly about the dresses, and mostly from the point of view of a busty girl... most of those dresses simply would not be flattering with the high necklines which often have a tendency to stretch across the chest unless you buy a size up. Also, the drop-waist black dress in #3 has really awkward elastic, which I don't think would look too flattering on most people. I don't know, I just feel like most of the clothes, though certainly not all, in these kind of collections for Target seem like they would be really unflattering on people who aren't models. Plus, they often look different in person... but maybe that's just my store?

@nessalicious: That first dress probably does work for a lot of non-modelly figures, but would look terrible on a busty girl. The last one is really the only one that could work with big boobs.

@bellzar08: I've seen photos of Anna Sui and I thinks she's pear shaped, so I'd guess a lot of these could work on her.

@nessalicious: likewise. i'm very busty (and in no way model-y) and i wear stuff like this all the time. i buy a size smaller than i normally would (so i'm not swimming in fabric) and wear a minimizing bra.

@sarahxo: I completely agree with that about most of the Target collections - all of my brothers' friends, who are these super slim, narrow hips and relatively non-busty women, would look very cute in everything I see. Someone with boobs or a tummy or whatever, not so much.

@LolaLane: I was going to say...I am on the small end of the spectrum and NOTHING fits me. I find it hard to believe that the clothes the models are wearing have not been altered to their frames.

I have seen some fuck-up-ed-ness in a few of the lines. Like the shorts will be so tiny I can't get a leg into them, but the XS small top fits like a Gap XXL. I don't....really get how they do things over there.
