    @Meglantine: I think long blazers look fine with a big rack (I too enjoy being top heavy), but the cut of the short little half blazer would be sort of awkward. And trying to get it actually buttoned or over the chest would be way too difficult.

    I love this: It makes me feel like I have glaucoma.

    I always buy Anthro stuff when it goes on sale and is actually the price that people should pay for those things. Usually about half. I actually paid $7.00 one time for a t-shirt originally something hideous like $90.

    I actually have the soap wrapped in wool and it is AWESOME.

    wool is naturally antibacterial, fungal and microbial - it doesn't get "grody"

    Dodai, you and I have the same skill. I always end up picking the $8,000 watch as my favorite on a page of much cheaper watches. I'm not sure if this is a good skill or a terrible one.

    Why the lack of long sleeves, Anthropologie? When the hazy winter sky creeps through my window, I often like to settle in to read a classic and perch my feet, celadon-shod, atop a whimsically distressed ottomon. Positioned thusly, it pleases me to wrap up in something more substantial than a petal soft cardigan made out of butterfly wings.

    Where's that snuggie catalog?

    Okay, I'm going to explain the furry soap.

    It's felt-covered because this way you can use it in the shower without a wash cloth.

    In knitting circles, it's not uncommon to make little baggies that do the same thing. I have a cabled bag made out of cotton I use instead of a wash cloth.

    @sayah: The yarn is still full of soap. You can't really wash the soap out of something when there's a bar of it in there. Plus, they're pretty easy to make and mine is machine washable.

    So I have six of the books pictures: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility etc. I thought they were beautiful, and were a pretty expensive package at Amazon for books I wanted. I had no idea I was Anthrolpologie chic.

    @Newsgirl: Actually, I suspect it's so you can worth up a soapy lather without the need for a washcloth. It's not uncommon in knitting circles to make little bags that do the same thing.

    Love the catalogues, the clothes, the store, the decor BUT...well, my butt! My size 6 ass and large-ish chest does not translate well into their design aesthetic. Not for hourglass women. Has anyone else found this to be true?

    @scullymurphy: Ha! Ok, good, glad it's not just me in their dressing room, struggling to fit a piece of theirs around my chest, looking at the odd gaps, or strange bunches in the cuts of their clothes , and thinking "Gawd, this is so unflattering". I thought I had freaky proportions or something. They must have a real specific body type for a fit model, who functions as their design muse or something, but I'm just guessing.

    @OneTwoPunch: As a lady with a prominent derrierre, I actually find some of their pants to fit pretty well. Certainly better than their unflattering sack vending sister Urban Outfitters. But yeah, they've bought into a lot of trends (bubble skirts!) that don't do me any favors.

    @MyrtleWilloughby: Urban Outfitters is another one! Nothing ever looks good on my body, but, on the hanger, looks great. And old roommate of mine from art school, now a fashion designer, told me that's the sign of poor design: not cut on the bias, and the less seams to sew, the cheaper it is to produce.

    @OneTwoPunch: Oh yeah, OU is the queen of cheap shoddy construction, and that's why their $180 shmattes sell for $5 on clearance. By the fit of some of their clothes I would guess they were designed by well intentioned 19 year old art majors who have never touched sewing machines.

    @OneTwoPunch: As a busty, hippy, hourglass of a size 10, I normally have this problem. HOWEVER. Earlier this year I found, in their lingerie section, these amazing slip nightgowns WITH BUILT-IN BRAS. Little spaghetti straps, bra strap, pockets, the softest cotton, cut above the knee. Sexy and sweet AND supportive and comfy, even for my 32Fs! Expensive but worth it to me. I bought two and wear them all the time.

    @MyrtleWilloughby: Hearted for the use of the word "schmattes". My Brooklyn grandfather used to toss around some yiddish words he learned from his Jewish friends, and they always remind me of him and his great childhood stories :)

    @OneTwoPunch: if I may, I fit into everything at Anthro quite nicely which is well, perhaps (dare I say) more tortuous than not fitting.

    Because then I want and absolutely cannot afford.

    Which means I spend weeks, stopping by on my way home hoping that something I adored made it to the sale rack and has been there so long that it got marked down three times so as to meet my "buy nothing over $49.99" rule.

    I usually have to go up a size from my usual at Anthro. I'm moderate in bust size but I think I have a larger rib cage and their stuff seems to fit me fine. Maybe you've just picked some unfortunately cut items?

    I have about 4 skirts from there that were each $40. I did just buy a dress on sale for $98, which I thought was assinine and am considering returning! I prefer to shop online, though, because the cramped sale nook at my local outpost is overwhelming to me.

    @OneTwoPunch: Aww, cool! In college, way back in the dark ages, I had never heard of this thing called sushi. My friends invited me to check out a new place by campus and a lot of laughs were had at the expense of my inability to to pronounce "sushi" correctly. I have since conquered the word :)

    @Zombie Ms. Skittles: Especially since, as a knitter, I see that they use acrylic all the time. Natural fibers can be expensive. Acrylic cannot. That is the rule in my life.

    @banana_grabber: See, I don't mind acrylic particularly if it's a soft acrylic. Scratchy acrylic is the bane of my existence, but since I live in Texas I wouldn't get to wear a lot of knit goods if I stuck exclusively to wool.

    @Zombie Ms. Skittles: Actually, I just read that wool is unique in that is cool if you are warm and warm if you are cool. There is a specific word to describe that, but I found that interesting. I'm not sure how it works and I'm not advocating bulky wool sweaters in July, but perhaps a sleeveless thin wool shirt in summer might just work.

    I just hate acrylic because I sweat a lot and it's completely unbreatheable. Plus, the expense issue--expensive wool makes more sense than expensive acrylic, even if acrylic is ok.
