I'm not imagining myself particularly moved by the story of a wealthy privileged woman ending up wealthy and privileged. But maybe the film will provide an interesting look into other women's lives.

I don't understand why an intelligent girl from a well to do family in NYC would go into modeling. She has so many other options. Modeling seems like a job that would only be attractive to girls who wanted to live in the big city or had no other skills to make lots of money.

On a side note: There is a picture of the photog Kelly from RHoNYC was married to in the clip. Their age difference is much greater than the Count and the Discountess. Ew.

@PersonOfInterest: Yes, that would be Gilles Bensimon. He was Elle magazine's creative director/main photographer for eons. Before he married Kelly, he was married to Elle Macpherson. Bensimon was a kingmaker of the 80s/90s supes.

Wrong. Many models are actually girls/boys who just happened to be at the right place at the right time and were spotted by modeling scouts. It seems like many of the big-name models kind of "fell" into modeling and watched their careers snowball. Modeling is not as easy/mindless as it seems, it actually requires a lot of dedication and stamina and it can be really lonely at times as well.

@Understater: eh, you're getting your picture taken. you're walking around in painful shoes. the flash on the camera doesn't sap the soul. Not that that is in complete disagreement with your statement, I agree it's probably not AS easy/mindless as it seems.

I agree with PersonOfInterest's comment. to go into this field with all the opportunities afforded to you, strikes me as silly. All the models I know do it as a side hustle along with artsy shit that barely pays the bills. And they're apparently lucky to even find paying jobs.

What an incredible idea- I hope that this movie can highlight some of the issues found in the industry ("not-rape," for example?) in a healthy way that can normalize this overhyped, oversexualized, and slightly terrifying industry.

All I can think is that a title for model drama movie could Blue Steel Magnolias. Lots of tears, accents and people getting their hair done.

I wish I could go to work with my hair up like that...

Why can't jeans be normal work attire? What is wrong with a pony tail 5 days a week?

I've seen more bad khakis here than bad jeans. :(

Damn you Apollonia, and your cute, cute kerchief.

I did ONE modeling/television spot while living in Asia-never again! The shoot went 6 hours over, was soooo boring you have no idea. I cannot imaging doing it for a living (although, I wasn't exactly getting wined and dined with jewelery, clubs, etc so it could at least have its perks in that respect...)

@Blueberrypie: Har. I did some bikini/beach clothing modeling for a few surf shops here back in my twenties, and the most I got for it was a bikini and some flip-flops.

I guess it was supposed to be for the fun of it, and god I wish I had photos. My fat ass could use some encouragement right about now.

@Macloserboy: Yep, namely Domiva. And the fashion editor and photographer are meant to to be Vreeland and Avedon - although I am sure you know that ;-)

You should read "Diana Vreeland," it's a good book. That woman had mad style.
