You just keep wondering what else they would have done to move the world, and make people feel. And it hurts.

I've never seen "Dogtown", "Four Feathers", "The Patriot" nor "Brokeback Mountain" (I know, don't know why) but they are all in my netflix queue and I look forward to watching him.
Oh and my fondness grew when I was informed that he LOVED Nick Drake...I LOVE Nick Drake

I think it's kinda there. It wouldn't be a Hollywood story without some dickishness involved.
Nicola Pecorini, friend and cinematographer,
"And I'm pretty sure that all his sleeping problems had nothing to do with work and all to do with Matilda and Michelle . . "
".. . He was so solid into keeping clean, it was quite stunning. I really think he died of a broken heart. I know it can sound very romantic, but it's very tragic. I think that's what killed him."
Terry Gilliam: "All of us who were close to Heath knew what was going on, and it was not the most pleasant experience."
Nice one guys. Way to imply that the everyday problems of having a relationship and being a dad were like, an evil plot to kill a grown man. Having a child is so awesome except for the people with wombs who come with that. The *stress.*
Yeah, Pecker-ini, he did NOT die of a broken heart, he died of a lethal combination of drugs. And while it's awesome to dispel the rumours that his job as the Joker killed him, possibly you should just stop projecting your own toxic issues with women onto the poor late Heath.

I think more than anything he blamed himself, which is sometimes worse.

I don't want to blogwhore but I still feel pretty much the same way about Heath as I did before:

I think it comes down to something like what you said about his having done something "true and admirable." I have rarely cared for a fictional character as much as I cared for Ennis. That film absolutely broke my heart, and I know that it was entirely because of how Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were able to embody the power of the story, and to reach that level of honesty through art just feels to me to be a gift. And the fact is that I have cared for every one of the characters that I saw Heath Ledger portray, and that feels like an even larger gift. It makes me deeply sad that he is no longer able to give that amazing, true thing, and that he no longer has the opportunity to explore it within himself.

My boyfriend met him a few times, b/c his boss was good friends with him, and there was only nothing but nice things said about him from anyone who I know who knew him well. I think he was a good friend, a good father and unfortunately someone who was not able to understand what he was doing to his own body.
