I actually just watched 300 a couple of days ago. I recently finished a fascinating history on the Battle of Thermopylae, and thought it would be interesting to see how the film compared. It did not fare well.
Holy shit, that is a spectacularly, ecstatically, gibber-helplessly-like-a-manic-baboon piece of cinematic putresence. I've changed diapers that I've enjoyed more.
@Zombie Ms. Skittles: Fair point, my friend. I'm not really a stickler for historical accuracy in films (I like me a good rollicking tale, so as far as I'm concerned the facts can go suck eggs), but it was the brain-incinerating misogyny, xenophobia and homophobia that really chapped my ass. All that snark about faggoty Athenians? Nobody loved boys more than those randy Spartans.
The torsos were rather lovely, though. I'll definitely give you that, Skittles.
@Harlot Brontë: I'm not gonna lie. I'm not even really sure what happened in that movie. I remember sex scenes and gleaming, oily, hard bodies. I don't remember the plot making much sense, but I obviously wasn't paying that much attention.
@Blueberry26: I am right there in the same boat with you. I just found out recently that Dominic West played the rapist douchebag who the lady who played Sarah Connor kills, which puts me in the uncomfortable situation of being VERY attracted to a rapist douchebag with unfortunate facial hair.

Between Phantom of the Opera and Dear Frankie, Gerard Butler will always hold a special place in my heart.

You really shouldn't look much deeper than the incredibly well-muscled torsos and the sexy accents.

Hmmm, Paul Rudd and Gerard Butler. Re-enacting the wrestling scene from Ken Russell's 'Women In Love'.
