Speed Racer: Another Premiere, Another Hot Shot Of Eva Amurri

For the love of God: How many Speed Racer premieres is Warner Bros. scheduling?! The latest took place on Friday night as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. By now you know the routine: Christina Ricci, Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, Miles Robbins, Eva Amurri, and that cute little kid who is also in the movie. But since this was the Tribeca Film Festival, there were also some kick-ass randoms present: Robert DeNiro and his wife Grace Hightower, Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio and his wife and son; Fred Durst (again!) and his girlfriend and, best of all, Stephen Colbert and his entire family. All of them, plus the Good, Bad and Ugly of what they wore, after the jump.

The Good:
Eva Amurri shows why the little black dress is what it is. Wow.

Emile Hirsch is definitely underdressed compared to his co-stars. But I'm a sucker for a stripey anything.

Llittle Paulie Litt is sorta my hero.

Susan Sarandon's leather coat is really ugly. But son Miles Robbins is so damn cute and clearly loves his mom so damn much that I forgive and forget all.

Could Stephen Colbert and his family be any cuter?! See, they all look smart in jeans. Emile Hirsch, take note.

Same goes for Vincent D'Onofrio and his wife and kid.

I think this is my favorite of Christina Ricci's premiere dresses to date. Smart and fun.

The Bad:
Grace Hightower, per usual, is always a class act. But Robert DeNiro looks like a total schlump. Would it kill him to wear pants that fit?

The Ugly:
I'm sorry: Why was Fred Durst there?

Screw Science: There's Something Sexy About Younger Men

Over on Salon, Carol Lloyd is pondering the pairing of women with older men, specifically, a recent study in Sweden which found that when women are 4 to 6 years younger than their male partners, they give birth to more kids. Martin Fieder, an anthropologist at the University of Vienna, speculates that men evolved a preference for younger women because those women have a longer fertility span. Meanwhile, women might give birth to more children when they choose older partners because those guys are more likely to have greater financial resources. But, says Lloyd: "I've always cast a jaundiced eye on our cultural assumptions that men should be older (not to mention taller) than their wives. It seemed just another manifestation of the gender imbalances that coursed through our workplaces, government and educational system. Of course, when in love, all bets are off." (Lloyd married a man 11 years older.)

Biology and social constructs might explain being attracted to older men, but what explains liking younger guys?

Don't call Dateline NBC. I'm no Mary-Kay LeTourneau. But younger guys get me hot and bothered. Often they have better style, more enthusiasm, a joie de vivre and a straight-up cuteness that can't be denied. Which is not to say that older men don't have appeal. But younger guys just seem so fun. This predilection was definitely exacerbated by working at a teen magazine, where the actors, singers and boys in bands I interviewed were creative, funny, heartthrob-types whose ages hovered around the upper teens and early twenties. A few years ago I dated a guy who was five years younger and he thought I was so smart, so well-traveled, so accomplished, so together. It was an ego boost! (Then I realized he was an unemployed homeless couchsurfer and therefore easily impressed. But he was hot!) And I know I'm not alone. Our own Tracie "Slut Machine" Egan says, "I've always liked guys in their early 20s. When I was in high school I liked guys that age, and I still do. But now it's more about the fact that they can reboot quickly and they like to have morning sex." So while some ladies swoon over George Clooney, Tracie and I will be ogling young'uns like Shia, Emile, Michael, Channing, TI and Bow Wow. Is that so wrong?

The ShoWest Awards Had Some Tickety-Tacky Hot Tranny Messes

ShoWest is the trade show for the movie theatre industry. And because movie stars can't be movie stars unless they star in movies that get played in movie theatres, well, they need to show the ShoWest distributors a little love. In attendance at the trade show's awards ceremony last night? A series of big and small screen celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Jodie Foster, Anne Hathaway, Kate Bosworth, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Christina Ricci, America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel (left). After the jump, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of the ShoWest Awards.

The Good:
I think that both Abigail Breslin and her top are adorable.
Jodie Foster: Still beautiful.
Looking too skinny again, but I do love Kate Bosworth's sorta mumsy dress.
Pretty good for SJP. (At least she's not wearing the Uggs and puffy coat.)

The Bad:
Valley of the Dolls much, Anita Briem?
OMG! It's Encino Man Brandon Fraser! I loved that movie buuuuudy! Too bad he looks like he hasn't changed his wardrobe since it premiered.
Christina Ricci did not get the memo about why one does not wear a short shiny white dress.
Did Emile Hirsch get dressed in his dad's clothes?
Why is Maggie Gyllenhaal wearing her support garments over her dress?
Seth Rogen? Or your high school chemistry teacher?

The Ugly:
Is Anne Hathaway starring in a film version of Little House on the Prairie? Or a public service announcement for "When Bad Shoes Happen To Good People"?
Um, how old are you, Robert Downey, Jr?
