Poor Rhianna, for the rest of her life she's gonna be That Girl Who Got Beat by The Rapper. People won't even remember she's a singer too. She needs to be in a blockbuster or a broadway musical based on a classic black film very quickly.
i'm not sure why I tried but I really don't see Courtney's missive pointed AT Norton, rather, his "BM" which first, made me laugh but has to be some kind of "manager". I think this BM did something awful and that this person ....... oh dear, nevermind, my head just half exploded.!
"consider there to be a giant [sic] after everything"
Judging from that photo of La Love? I'd say so.
Wow, Monseigneur Clive. I'm sure Whitney and Alicia and Jennifer and all your other protegees will be terribly anxious to know how you'll speak about them in future.
Sigh. I usually defend Courtney for a few reasons--I think Hole is a great band that is seriously underrated, I loved her in the People v. Larry Flint, she had a seriously fucked up life which explains a lot about her current behavior, and so forth--but this is just indefensible. First of all, it's barely coherent, even by her standards. And disclosing information about someone without their persmission, when you aren't their mouthpiece/loved one, is inexcusable.
Also, she's probably back on the horse. Her coherence (or lack thereof) is strongly tied to her sobriety, or so I've noticed over the years.
I'm not sure Courtney meant Britney was literally molested... I think she meant Britney was forced to be a sexual commodity by her father, who has benefited while she has suffered, and now controls her life and all of her money. I think she may have meant she was "molested" the way that Joe Simpson "pimps out" his daughters... I'm not sure though...
@prismatism: see that is the problem with these posts of hers....the way she rights is easily misconstrued, taken literally when it is meant metaphorically et al.
I've been reading her shit for years and you need a fucking Rosetta Stone!
@prismatism: I readi t as, he literally molested her and then continued to torment her by forcing her to be a sexual commodity.
But, those VH1 biographies said that when Britney was starting out, it was her and her mom traveling all over together, while her dad and the other kids stayed home. Her mom was her manager at least through her first album, not her dad. Then she was represented by someone professional. Could Courtney mean someone else, like Lindsay Lohan or Miley Cyrus?
@HannahBethD: It was still an asshole comment. a) It seems clear that this is just another of Courtney's many sad grabs for publicity because b) I seriously doubt Courtney has any inside knowledge about BS and c) Metaphorical or not, what a shitty thing to say about someone. The drugs are no excuse, even by Courtney's, uh, "relaxed" social standards, she was way out of line.
And here I was under the impression that head phones and ear buds have always been dedicated to freedom. Why else are they always valiantly escaping the confines of my ear? You can take away their studded exterior, but you'll never take their freedom.
Rhianna has it all wrong. Barf is bad. Double barf is worse. This is canon.
I say 'barf' several times a day, usually regarding something I don't want to do. "I have to clean the cat box. Barf. " I reserve 'double barf' for friends telling a story that goes from bad to worse. These are the rules, RiRi.
Is anyone familiar with a website that generates statements that, while superficially look like they have meaning, actually purposely make no sense? I feel like that is what Courtney Love did. Seriously, I have been rereading her statement for like five minutes trying to figure it out, and only stopped because I think I feel my brain weeping.
It always makes me so sad when people think that being in therapy means you've somehow failed. Building up that wall keeps many people from getting the help they need!
@heykoukla: Did you know he's been with the same woman for 3-4 years now? Can you imagine dealing with COURTNEY LOVE as the psycho ex-girlfriend? They both deserve a medal.
@hummingpenguin: Remember when he was going out with Salma Hayek, and Love made some crack about how he probably couldn't understand a word Hayek said? Yeah, I don't think she's good at playing the gracious ex.
If Britney was molested, I really don't think she's going to appreciate Courtney Love announcing that to the world for her. Going public with that should be her decision, not someone else's.
