    I'll always remember using a ouija board at school one lunchtime, and the teacher on duty coming in as we were pushing the glass around and saying, "Girls, could you do this somewhere else? You're upsetting Cathy [very Christian girl]".

    Ouija boards are freaky. My friends and I broke out the board around the same time we discovered Wicca (such a cliche, I know, but we made it work), so we were really careful about how, when and where we used it, and took steps to protect ourselves from, eh... undesirable energies. Even so, we still gave it up pretty quickly because it creeped us out so badly on occasion.


    The pinkness? Kinda making me feel silly for ever being freaked.

    @illythia: It's so true. I joke, but really I find this pink board to be very unsettling for just this reason. I worked at Toys R Us for a few months, and my department sold Ouija boards in the board game section next to "Pictionary" and "Operation," and it's really not comparable. It's always made me really uncomfortable, mostly because of my own experiences.

    I think you mean the third sunday in Advent. Lent is before easter and doesn't have colorful celebration candles, but Advent has colorful candles in anticipation of Christmas.
