    This is nothing new, especially not in Europe. The foundation I work for just funded a bunch of feasibility studies to see if anaerobic facilities could be built in the Fraser Valley in BC, which has a very high concentration of dairy farms. It's actually a pretty cool technology and it's good to see it being applied on a more widespread basis.

    @badmutha: the interface carpet plant has been doing this for years which is good because carpet stays in landfills forever. they also accept old carpets to recycle. they were ahead of the curve on this, i believe. or their rep would have me believe.

    I've been using cloth pads for about 2 years now, and I love them -- I couldn't go back to that nasty, crinkly, itchy, chafey plastic if I tried. BUT, my early attempts to buy "brand" pads were a disaster -- everything this article says about Lunapads, etc. is true.


    The answer is to buy from the work-at-home moms (WAHMs) who make these things! There are several small online businesses (basically just the WAHM and maybe an assistant) who do online sales, and their products are a thousand times better, and usually cheaper too.


    My absolute favorite is Saucy Tots: [www.saucytots.com] ...but there are lots of excellent options if you look, including people who will make custom shapes, sizes and fabrics for little to no extra cost!
